I booked this hotel in advance and the staff did an amazing job meeting my adjoining room request. I had a 2bed room adjoining the handicapped queen room.
The first disappointment was the fact that the beds in the 2 bed room were very high. I was traveling with a 90 and 83 year old. Both had issues with the height of the beds. Additionally the space in that room was so tight you basically couldn't pass each other on the way to the bathroom. The chair for the desk would not even go under the desk (I think it was broken) so that was shoved into the corner blocking the adjoining room door. The bath was to the right of the entrance door with just shower/tub and toilet. The sick was on the left walking into the room. There was no place to set up the luggage rack provided behind the door. Basically it was a horrible designed room.
The first night the air was not working well at all. Kept it on 60 all night but barely cooled the room (even the 83 year old was warm). Requested maintenance the next morning. Came back after a long day of sightseeing to find it had not been serviced. Desk agent came to room to try to reboot but found a filthy unit. Rebooted but that did not help much. He said he would report it again. Not sure if it was ever fixed because we checked out the next morning.
When we arrived I also found leftover melted water in the ice bucket. The service staff evidently never check this cause it happened again the next day even though they serviced the room.
I will give kudos for the handicapped room however. The bed was normal height with ample room around it. Additionally the bath was well equipped and easy to use. It was the one room on the trip the 90 year old was happy with.
Rooms were definitely overpriced for the comfort and amenities. Free breakfast was available in a small room in the morning, but it was crowded and not...
Read moreThis hotel was very clean and the rooms were updated. The location is excellent. 30 min drive to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 10 min drive to the beach, and a 15 min drive to the area winery. There were lots of choices for restaurants nearby. We had one of the suites and the room was pretty nice. The jets were not working on the hottub and a couple of lights in the room were not working, but it did not affect our stay at all. There was a nice balcony overlooking the indoor pool. We were a little disappointed that the pool is closed, I suspect due to COVID safety reasons. We have stayed at numerous other hotels that do have their pools open. This was not mentioned on their website. The breakfast was a general grab and go, which we have seen at other hotels while traveling, which was mentioned on their website. Each day they were out of some things. One day it was cutlery, another day it was creamer for coffee. The staff were very friendly and very helpful when we did ask for assistance. We could tell that they were understaffed. One thing that was inconvenient was that the middle entry door was disabled for entry, causing you to use the entrances on the ends. Inconvenient if your room is in the middle. I believe this was another safety consideration to split traffic to opposite entry doors. Under normal conditions, I would rate this a 3 star review. But with the safety restrictions and limited staff in place (help wanted signs were posted), I rated a 4. I would suspect that once things are fully open and the rest of society is on a regular, normal schedule that I would rate a 5 as I am sure that these minor inconveniences would be taken care of. We would most likely stay here again if we were traveling through the area. Overall it was a very nice hotel with...
Read moreI am giving an honest review of what I experienced. I am a positive person and want to always leave good reviews but this was, at best, a mixed bag. When I booked just two days before coming, I asked about the pool, hot tub, and hot breakfasts. I was assured that all were up and running. A previous review said the pool was closed so I just wanted to be sure it was fixed. When we arrived, our room was ready. It was very small but clean. The king suite hot tub was wonderful and was the highlight of our stay. The bed was very hard and it hurt our hips to sleep on it. If these beds aren't replaced, a pillow topper for the mattress is needed. The first night we were too busy to swim and decided we would swim and relax in the hot tub the next day. But both were closed the rest of our stay with no explanation. I would not have chosen this hotel had I known that. For breakfast the first day, we went down after 9, so the fact the almost everything was gone (even though it was a Tuesday morning and the hotel did not seem very crowded) didn't bother me too much. The sign said breakfast was open until 10 but I made a mental note that I would not sleep in the next day. We went down much earlier on Wednesday (again, parking lot was very light and the hotel seemed to have many vacancies) and all the eggs were gone, no regular waffles were available, the orange juice was mostly water, and we had to bother the lady at the front desk for silverware since no one works the breakfast area. I wasn't expecting a huge breakfast but I was expecting to have a hot breakfast like I was promised and not told that everything was out. Whoever is ordering supplies and food needs to do a better job. I will not be...
