The week before I went to UH Urgent Care for kidney pain, side discomfort and stomach pain. It was the one right next to Tripoint, they did a cat scan and urine test that showed I had kidney stones and an infection. They gave me antibiotics and pain medicine but my symptoms and pain got worse. It became excruciating and didn’t let up so I went to Tripoint ER, I was one of three people in the waiting room after check in. Finally after 2 hours someone called my name and asked for a urine sample which I provided and gave to her. I could barely sit at this point and the pain continued to get worse, another 2 hours went by before I got to a room. Luckily it hurt too bad to be in the hospital bed because there was no pillow and the mattress was very thin. The nurse came in was nice said she was going to do bloodwork, IV and asked for a urine sample. I told her I gave one earlier to the lady up front and she told me they didn’t have it. I told her I wouldn’t be able to give one since I didn’t have anything to drink the whole time I was waiting. I was told I couldn’t have anything to drink or eat until they figured out what they were going to do with me. Luckily she went back up front and returned in about 15 minutes and said the sample was found. Later they took me for another cat scan and 2 hours later got the same result as urgent care. I also walk with a cane barely from nerve damage in my back and left leg. They made me walk all the way back to the room never offered a wheel chair. At check in I gave them the paper from the doctor at urgent care that showed kidney stones and infection. They knew ahead of time and how agonizingly painful they are so the extremely long wait time is totally unacceptable. The time I had to spend once in my room is ridiculous, grand total over 8 hours from the time I checked in until I walked out the door. Yes walked was not offered a wheel chair on the way out either. I drove myself there, was never asked if someone was with me or if I was ok to drive myself home. Overall a terrible experience and will drive another twenty minutes the next time I have to visit an ER.Hospital rules were also not followed as well, several employees didn’t have their masks pulled up and a few were not wearing them at all at different...

My Wife Sherri went on Thursday June 20 for HIDA scan, or Hepatobiliary Iminodiacetic Acid scan the results of this test were positive for a non-Functioning Gallbladder with blockage as test showed none of the expected flow thru the gallbladder.
We were then sent to the Emergency Room. After 6 hours of further testing and waiting it was deemed non-Critical and they did not have a surgeon on staff/Site on this day. They told her to contact the surgeon and schedule an appointment she has an appointment on July 1 to meet with a surgeon Karen Grassie MD Doctor Profile & Reviews So now on June 25, 2024, her Quality of life and current suffering due to having a nonfunctioning Gallbladder in her and she can’t eat solid food and not too much at any one meal she is suffering with bloating and gas pains and stomach cramps and Diarrhea and feels Miserable. She is eating Imodium tablets like candy for the pain and discomfort she is experiencing.
I spoke to her treating physician and even she feels this was an incorrect decision. To not escalate this removal of her gallbladder.
This patient management without a Quality-of-life consideration without the potential of Death or other serious Complications and to delay the treatment solely on this is not in the best interest of the patient care. Releasing her and knowing the possible suffering she would experience is deplorable. It is truly sad that I even feel compelled to write this Email on Behalf of her seeing what she is Experiencing. It is truly sad that patient care considering quality of life and knowing that she will suffer is deplorable. in this Modern-day medicine Treatment is more business managed and not patient Care and consideration. Any further degradation of her condition and quality of life impact will be addressed in the future as required by us.
Sincerely...
Read moreSo far, not so great. I understand you are busy with covid. But, the women's bathroom is out of toilet paper. We reported it and where told they have reported it several times to housekeeping. The trash cans are full and nearly overflowing, there are used blankets strewn all over, and there is a large dead fish in the aquarium covered in algae?
Now, the staff has been; like most ER staff, impersonal. The wait has been long just to be triaged, over an hour. I have no idea why since I can see them sitting at the desk, gapping to each other. May update later. We are now past the two hour mark.
Update - 9 hours, all night, and we have just seen one person taken back. There is movement. It is so horrible.
Update 2 - false alarm. Just did triage. All of us still here. This is what world-class American health care looks like.
Update 3 - 11.5 hours. Still seen no medical personnel. Going on faith that triage is actually working. Have seen two people walk in and taken to the back. (I assume they were very bad off and will choose not to assess from outward appearance.) A staff member cleaned up and got housekeeping to clean the bathrooms. She remarked how ridiculious the situation was. So, still waiting but the trash isn't overflowing. Third group of staff members. I hope we don't make a complete lab and see the staff we originally had when we arrived. BTW - fish still floating - dead.
Update 4 - 14.5 hours. Still not seen. Fish still floating. Mom's body is sore from sitting in the waiting room all night.
Update 5 - 16 hours. Saw a Dr. About an hour ago. He asked questions and pushed on my mom as she say in the hallway. Needs to examiner he further so now they are waiting on a room in the emergency Ward. Must be special because we saw a few empty ones....
