As a frequent visitor of the Palm Springs area, I was hoping I had found a great new spot to brunch with and without my pup. But as much as I wanted to give this place five stars, at this moment I can't.

Walked in with no reservations on Sunday memorial weekend. Everyone was very kind. And the hosts had walked away for about a min. Not unusual long, and in that time we had servers and supporting staff inform us someone would be right with us. Host came up. Friendly told us it would be 45 min wait. But bar was first come first serve. Took the bar option.

Sat at the bar. Was acknowledge in a appropriate amount of time from the bartender. Bartender was kind. Placed our drink order. Received our drinks rather quickly. Placed our order and then waited about 40-50 min for our meal. Placed a burger order. Wasn't asked how we would like the burger, I state this because if we had ordered it well, I could be a little more understanding on the wait. Not that I would order it well to begin. Also ordered the tuna seared salad.

We waited, after the 30 min mark we thought about asking for our food. Especially because I'm not sure if it's the whole bar area but where we were seated it was freezing. The air vent feels like it blows straight down. The couple next to us also commented on how cold. They debated if to grab a sweater. That is when I started looking around and realized we weren't the only ones showing concern for their food order. Everyone who had sat down at around the same time were waving down staff to ask about their food. Couples and bachelorette parties. With pups and without pups. We ate our food. And the people next to us order the same thing about 15 min after us and still hadn't received their food, till after we had finished eating.

Once our food arrived it was good. Nothing in particular to rave about. Especially after such a wait. Burger was cooked perfectly. Not over done and served hot. Salad lacked a crispness to the greens. But the crisp onion helped bring a little texture to the plate. Dressing was pretty basic. Tuna was of a decent quality. Bartender was pretty attentive. Especially because we weren't drinking alcohol. But he was busy. Asked someone else for hot sauce and it got lost. Never received it.

Space is clean and simple decor. Lots of patio space for pups. The pup menu is cute. Staff is kind. Seems a little understaffed. Both in bar and kitchen. But they are trying their best and staff doesn't relay that to the customer. I just am hyper observant and noticed it wasn't an isolated incident to us. I only gave it 4 stars because of how well the staff did with such unfortunate circumstances. But this was very close to a 3 star review if it werent for them. I'm hoping it was just an off day and we can visit again to a better experience. Because it does have all the potential for a 5 star review.

We have no issue coming back if friends were to suggest it to give it a second shot. But we will not be recommending this restaurant for...

Boozehounds…Heard great things and was super excited to try it. Unfortunately, it did not meet the mark or come even close. Super cool restaurant when you walk in. Interestingly/unexpectedly, there were no less than four bachelor/bachelorette parties when we walked in. Maybe that was my fault but not the vibe we were looking for. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful explaining the menu. For drinks, unfortunately, they had no available draft beers, and of the cans, they were out of the amber, had two IPAs, and the “plain” beer they did have was mango flavored. I got the Siren’s Call cocktail which looked great on paper but was extremely unbalanced and not my favorite. For food, we had everything come out at once, which again maybe was our fault, but it took FAR longer than it should have…and came out cold. Something to flag- the portion sizes were super confusing. The Brussel sprouts were an appetizer and a HUGE portion, whereas the lumpia (chicken spring rolls) were also an appetizer but were five small pieces and came out cold. On the bizarre side, the sweet chili dipping sauce came out in a plastic condiment cup instead of a normal cup or ramekin which seemed out of place for everything else that was presented on the nicer side. We ordered the garlic noodles which were good, but not super garlicky and adobo chicken protein we added was dry and not broken up well (some was shredded and some was in clumps). Lastly, we got the tteokbokki (very thick, chewy, mozzarella stick-sized noodles) which was in a fantastic sauce but odd general texture. Uncommon to have an Asian dish with cheese, but overall good flavor. We asked to see the dessert menu and instead we’re brought the check which was an odd way to end the meal. Overall, really disappointed with the drinks and food. Staff was friendly enough, but that’s not going to make up for cold food and...

When it comes to great restaurants, I may be easily impressed by a single attribute or another - food, service, atmosphere- but seldom go all in on Star rating. However, I believe Boozehounds is a Pawtastic gastronomical gem that really fetches the whole bowl of treats. The atmosphere is furry friend compatible and each k9 pawtron is provided their own drinking bowl, menu, and the occasional treat offering. The dog friendly options are creative, healthy and according to our fuzzy compatriot, tasty! The entire staff was engaging and attentive. Our server Mellie was friendly and shared insights on favorite dishes all while successfully attended to the other Atrium seated good dogs and their humans . Big high five Millie! The suggestions were spot on!! When ordering, think tapas style dining as many of their tasty offerings are easily served sharable Before we chowed down on some amazing mains dishes we ordered the crispy brussel sprouts and edamame. The sweet and savory sauce that lightly coated the crispy browned brussels had notes of ginger and possibly five spice. Best version of this dish I have had to date! Alongside the Brussels we also ordered Tteokbokki, a Korean inspired street food style dish, that was a perfect balance of rice cake noodles ,gouchujang, garlic and melty cheese. Also, a very unique take on a popular personal favorite. Sharing the perfectly braised beef topped with kimchi and crispy onion bits, all sitting on a bed of creamy polenta was tough, however, it was enough to feed two given the other dishes. If you and your dogos are looking for a fantastic food experience, I highly recommend going for a walk to Boozehounds. Wag more...
