The place was OK, mostly because we find old tired relics amusing and we seemed to have lucked into one of the better units as it was upstairs so no noise from above. Or from the pool, which was totally adequate. Also it was cheap in comparison to other nicer places. But come on, even motel 6 gives you adequate toiletries and does not limit you to one coffee per visit in your room. Nope sorry no more. Have to come down to the office if you want coffee past the first day. ||The website says it has a vending machine but this is not true, so inconvenient if you want to hang out with a cold drink, but plan ahead. Please note that the description of amenities etc is misleading---it says toiletries, which turned out to be one small tube of shampoo, no conditioner, and a sliver of nasty soap. ||I was working remotely part of the time, or rather was not, since the wifi is totally unreliable and weak, as others have mentioned.||It did smell weird at first, and no vents so cooking smells also lingered as well as the kitchen balcony door did not open. Not particularly dirty, beds were hard and headboard noisy but doable. The kitchen had one of those mini-sets of salt and pepper, both almost empty. Nothing else for cooking. There are convenience/liquor stores nearby but it's a $10 uber ride to get to an actual grocery store and a limited choice of ok but not great restaurants. As it got unusually hot while there, the half hour walk to downtown was not pleasant to find other options, though normally it would be fine. If you're at all elderly or otherwise wobbly you do need a car for touristing. ||All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. An ok stay but it seems it's the luck of the draw whether ok or horrible....
Read moreCheck in began at 4 pm, but the office closed at 5:00. We had received no check in instructions, so when we arrived at 6 pm we were surprised to find the office closed, the area dark. We found directions to go around the building (in the dark) to a lock box with a phone nearby. We were to use the phone to call the posted phone number to obtain the code for the lockbox to get our keys. The person who answered the phone seemed surprised that we were calling and had trouble giving us the code. When we were finally able to open the lockbox, many envelopes with keys were inside. It didn’t seem like a very secure way to distribute keys.||||We opened the door to a very dirty and stale smelling unit. The air was off and the lighting - when we turned it on - was very dim. The unit had one window and two sliding doors, but none had screens. We spent our first evening of vacation cleaning enough to make it habitable. The dank smell lingered throughout the week and cooking smells added to the odor. In addition to being dirty the unit was dated and in need of repairs and updating. Among the concerns was paint peeling from the wall onto the floor of the children’s room and food that had been left under the bed.||||Check out was also odd. When we tried to drop off just before 9:00, the gate to the dropbox area was padlocked. This is not a place we...

Our family stayed 4 nights in one of the villas. As nice as the accommodations were, the place reeked of the disgusting smell of febreze from the moment we walked in. It quickly became apparent why: although the beds had been made and the countertops wiped down, the floor was absolutely filthy. Inside five or so minutes, we found coins, pills and a used fake eyelash (!) in the middle of the carpet. It had clearly not been vacuumed.
We tried to make the best of it, but by the third day we told the office how bad the floor was and asked for a vacuum, along with fresh towels. We came back that evening to find the carpet just as filthy as ever, the trash bins still completely full, and the sofa stacked with 6 full sets of towels, washcloths, and hand towels (there are only 4 of us). Worse yet, it smelled like whoever left the towels and didn’t lift a finger to do any cleaning had emptied yet another full bottle of febreze into the entryway: the smell was so bad my daughter gagged immediately. This place needs to figure out how to direct their cleaning staff and just ban...
