Marquis Villas Resort — Hotel in Palm Springs

Where do I begin? This resort and the room was so disgusting! We get to our room and it is dirty, no toiletries, (no soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc) dirty towels to use. The cabinets were all opened exposing the towels. If there is dust and dirt everywhere, it was on the towels too!

We arrived late at night and when I called to get soap, I was told I had to go get it because the receptionist cannot leave the area. She lied to the manager and told her she offered us a rollaway bed for the other smaller room they wanted us to move to. First of all, if I wanted a smaller amount of beds, would I not have booked that? Hey family, someone is going to get the short end of the stick while we traveled all day long and you need to sleep on a rollaway. If the receptionist could not even leave to bring us soap, which we went to get ourselves! How was she going to get us this supposedly promised bed? Her attitude was like you are offered a different room, so you are declining it? Obviously! I need a certain amount of beds, I put the right number of guests in the room. I did not make it up. I asked for a comparable room or larger at this point, when she judges me for not taking the smaller room. Of course, nothing was available.

We used it to just sleep and woke up so early to hurry up and leave! Dirty towels on the floor, women products in the trash, dirt and dust everywhere! Let’s not forget the loud noise from traffic all night long. Then awakened by the loud heater/ac? The receptionist is lying about stuff she offered us and of course management believes her. It was worth nothing, now I have to deal with a refund because the hotel manager says the room I stayed in was clean. Oh yeah, they also double charged my resort fee and refuse to give that back to me. I am so grossed out, do yourself a favor and run away from...

This place could be so much better. Got in late and left very early, so did not use their facilities at all. This review is about the room. From the outside, the place looks great, but once inside it feels dated and worn. The front desk person was pleasant. Took elevator to 2nd floor and once on that floor I had to go down two long hallways. I had the immediate impression of my being Danny Torrance (The Shining movie) and seeing the creepy twin girls down the long hallway. Yes, it was that bad.

In the room, was impressed with the large suite and full kitchen and dining table. The bedroom is completely separate. The living room is sparse from lack of furniture and decor - felt cold and uninviting. There are tv's in both the bedroom and living room. The bed was very comfortable and the germy tv remote was encased in plastic. Thank you very much.

The bathroom is really huge, with two toilets, two sinks, jacuzzi tub and shower. Four people can stay in this suite and definitely not feel like you are on top of each other. The balcony is also huge - runs the length of the bedroom and living room.

The location is great - walkable to stores and eating places. The parking area is underground - and you can not beat that. If/when this hotel decides to renovate, this will be a great place to stay, but until then - even though the price was good - I'd stay...

Disappointed that in after my 10 years of coming here, I will not be back again. I booked through a 3rd party by accident and in the email the third party charged me the resort fee. When I arrived marquis villa again charged me the fee when I inquired about this they said management would be in touch, I showed them the screenshots and proof twice that in black and white stated I was already charged the resort fee and they basically said they don’t understand where the fees from the third party are coming from. They showed a different price on their end that the third party said they charged which was about $150 off from what I was actually charged. I showed them the charge from my bank and neither the 3rd party or marquis villa will refund the resort fee. On top of that this place is not updated for the price you pay. I always stayed here because the staff is very friendly and the full kitchen but this visit I was so disappointed in the room and the resort fee debacle. Our room had a very foul odor and the bed was so hard on our backs. The only reason it isn’t one star review is because the staff is so nice. I do have to give credit to the staff for being kind in spite of the whole resort...
