Went here on Feb 6th. I called them around 545pm and they were able to see me right away for a 90min session at 6pm. I arrived late since I had trouble finding parking but I still got my full 90mins.
I'm a CMT myself and have had a hard time finding someone good and affordable in Palm Springs to work out my knots but I am so happy I came here. The male MT here had amazing pressure, worked out all my knots, and did meridian points massage, with stretching as well. He did involuntary back alignments which was fantastic! The massage itself was mostly deep tissue work which will leave you feeling sore a few hours later or the next day. Lots of people who complain about soreness don't seem to understand that a massage is a manipulation of the muscles aka working out the muscles without actual exercise. That's why you feel sore after. Lots of the reviews here are claiming that they were injured or bruised, but I'm sure these people are used to SWEDISH massages or just getting lotion rubbed on them.
The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is because he did not massage my quadriceps AT ALL which is always an issue at these Asian-type massage places. To avoid any "inappropriate" touching they just avoid the thighs altogether which is so disappointing to me as I do squats when I work out and NEED my quads to be worked on.
In any case, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back. The people giving low reviews with negative comments are the type of people who are used to going to high-end places like Burke Williams, well this isn't that! This is your typical Asian affordable spa. The massage rooms are small, with swinging doors, divided by plywood walls so yes, you may hear the massage next door, and yes the massage therapist may walk out of the room to grab lotions or hot towels, but that's standard practice, nothing unprofessional about that.
If you're in the area check them out, and be sure to bring cash! Giving 20% tip is standard for ANY service type of work so even if you didn't have the greatest massage in the world, don't be cheap or rude...
Read moreI came with a friend for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. The place looks pretty crappy right upon entry - broken looking pedicure chairs, strange little plastic gifts in the window, dirty walls and decore, worker's personal belongings scattered around. But the massage cubby i was assigned was ok, it seemed clean (tho it was super dark so really who knows). My massage was ok, but they were doing construction in the storefront next door - very loudly banging, power tools, a compressor, one guy bursting into song periodically - and that was pretty awful and not at all relaxing. Just when i would begin to tune it out, they would drop a pile of lumber or something. Tbh the place should not have booked massage appointments with the chaos of construction on the other side of a very thin wall. I could hear every word of the dudes speaking to each other! But... maybe they didn't know? I was trying to cut them slack on it. But it was pretty bad. Then when our massages were done - 10 minutes earlier than they were supposed to be, but i was so ready to get out of there - my friend and i took turns using their restroom (which is FILTHY), and when i came out i tipped the massage therapist $20. Then the counter lady accosted me as i was waiting: "Tip the girl! Tip the girl!" I told her I had tipped and she just kept saying it!
A terrible experience, absolutely wretched. And my friend said her massage was awful, too, that the girl was clearly untrained and just pushed her elbows into her back for an entire hour. She wanted to leave after 30 minutes. I am so sorry we chose this place out of the hundreds of options, but it was short notice and close to our hotel. What a mistake.
Dirty. Loud. Poorly trained. Aggressive, rude desk person. I cannot figure out how they have so many...
Read moreWe saw the stars on Google and the good pricing and decided to try this place for ourselves.
The place was clean and the rooms were neatly set up.
The pricing was really good. $60 for 60 minutes and $90 for 90 minutes. We chose the 60/30 combo.
The massage itself was ok for my bf and it was a bit subpar for me. The pricing matches the massage for the most part. However, Iâve had better massage for similar prices in the heart of New York City. The masseuse didnât ask me what type of pressure I wanted beforehand and he wasnât consistent throughout (firm sometimes but light to medium most of the time) so it was hard for me to tell him the specific pressure I wanted anyway.
As we were walking out of the rooms to pay a woman that wasnât there before showed up. She was wearing sunglasses and a hat indoors. I gave her $200 cash for the $180 service. She was holding the $20 change and said â$20 per person tip ok?â I was really confused like I didnât have THAT GOOD of a massage but maybe itâs ok since it was a cheaper massage. She then went on to say âok $20 per person, if you donât have more cash you can pay with a debit cardâ. Then I started to felt forced. My bf then said $10 more, $15 per person, and she kept typing $19, $15 on the machine until my bf said it in a demanding tone â$10 more, $15 for each person, they can splitâ.
We walked out of there feeling like it was a okay massage for a not so great experience. Iâve never had someone demand tips like that before.
3 stars because itâs clean, a small business, and the massage wasnât terrible. It didnât hurt afterwards but there wasnât a sense of relief during the...
