I'm on a road trip with my two friends and their elderly pets. We have been staying in Red Roof Inns the whole way from Ohio, and this one was by far the worst.
We called a day ahead to make reservations. The person who answered the phone was rude to me when I mentioned I would be using a VIP pass for the night, then directed me to a 1800 number to make the reservation. This was a first. So we called the number, got confirmation for the reservation, and made our way to the hotel. When we arrive, no reservation was ever recorded, so we had to go through the process all over, hoping there was a free room.
Luckily, there were free rooms, but the front desk attendant, a different person than on the phone earlier that day, was snarky and rude to me. I finally signed everything I needed to, walked to my car to pull around to my room. There were homeless people staying behind the hotel. Ok I can deal with that, other than being nervous about my car getting broken into. I grab my stuff and my pet, open the door, and there is someone standing inside smoking a cigarette right next to the no smoking sign. Great. Walk up the stairs, which are FILTHY to the second floor which is FILTHY to my room. I hear two people screaming at each other, babies crying and I'm pretty sure what was a drug deal in the corner of the hallway, and not your "I got some weed for you bro" Type of drug deal. We finally get into our room, which is supposed to be non smoking yet wreaks of cigarette. The beds were ok, but the bedding was dingy. The bathroom floor was filthy. The carpet was sticky and filthy. Also, they advertise on their sign that there is a jacuzzi, and pool, yet neither were available.
The only saving grace about this whole place was the thai restaurant a couple blocks away. You have to have their curry/pad thai.
I highly recommend you keep driving past this hotel, check out antelope valley poppy reserve, or the joshua tree park and camp, or keep driving past this...
Read more'When we first walked into our room the wood floors were really sticky, so we took a washcloth and cleaned them. When we wet the washcloth we found that the water from the sink was draining onto the floor under there sink, so we put the trash can under there. Then, until about 2 in the morning there were kids running running up and down the hallways (upstairs and downstairs) screaming and hitting the walls and parents right behind them screaming. I finally yelled out the door for them to stop and then it quieted down. The second night it was the same thing, kids and their parents running up and down the hallways screaming and banging in walls. Finally at midnight I called the front desk and asked them to make thet people stop. She said what noise I don't hear anything. I said 'you have got to be kidding me, they have been running up send down the hallway screaming for hours. Go stand in the hallway for a few minutes you will hear it.' It finally quieted down. We went to the front desk this morning and told the girl everything and she acted like she didn't care. We won't be back and this review is going everywhere I can put it.'||The girl mumbled she "Sorry' and then handed me my receipt. There was no concern, no attempt to make things right or to even contact a manager. My husband and I were both really upset about this whole thing. We spent almost $150 for 2 nights to have this kind of an experience both nights in a row. Also, there are new mattresses lined up against the walls in the hallway on really filthy carpet, the vending machines in the lobby were all almost empty. I just can not say enough about how bad this experience was. We were in town for my Dad's memorial and this really didn't help...
Read moreMy experience was ok, just by the fact that i met Nora the housekeeper, she was always attentive as to everything i needed she was so nice and respectful. I had called front desk because we had 2 towels in our room and needed more ; 3 of us were there and they said no only 2 towels and that if i wanted more i would have to take down the wet ones and get 2 more and couldnt get 3. 2 towels for 3 people in the room? For 3 nights???? Very rude young lady. I found a cockroach in the bathroom, a dog barked all night and couldnt get any sleep for 2 nights. We had no remote control in room, wifi didn't work at all for the 4 days.the refrigerator was very disgusting, very dirty. need new staff and housekeepers, just keep Nora. they knocked on my door on the second day and asked when i was going to check out that morning, and i said i dont check out til 2 days from today. Alot of screaming and talking throughout the night, kids yelling and banging doors at 2 in the morning, bed mattresses were all torn and in bad condition. Towels were very dirty, no fitted sheet on the beds, but people like me have to stay because our income doesn't reach for a better hotel. Location is great but unfortunately not the hotel and the customer service. SADLY I HAVE TO STAY THERE BECAUSE FINANCIALLY I AM UNABLE TO PAY ELSEWHERE AND I HAVE TO GO SEE MY HUSBAND IN PRISON IN LANCASTER DRIVING 9 HOURS FROM HOME. WISH THEY HAD A DISCOUNT AS WELL FOR THOSE OF US WHO GO SEE OUR LOVED ONES IN PRISON. THANK YOU AND HOPE THE MANAGER TAKES ALL THESE CUSTOMERS' EXPERIENCES AND MAKES ALL THE POSSIBLE CHANGES AND NOT ONLY SAY SORRY FOR YOUR EXPERIENCE. NEW EVERYRTHING, MATTRESSES,SHEETS TOWELS. INVEST PLEASE, BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND LOCATION...
