I really enjoyed my stay at the Atlanta Marriott Peachtree Corners. It's on the Atlanta Perimeter and for the most part away from the crowded areas of downtown. It's such a convenient location to be around several restaurants and shopping centers as well.
What I liked best about this hotel is I felt it operated at full, normal service.
At check-in, I was definitely greeted and thanked for my loyalty as a Titanium Elite member. What really impressed me was the gentleman who checked me in also provided me with Breakfast for 2 vouchers for Restaurant 475 in the lobby (worth up to $42 each), for the weekend days the lounge is closed. For some Marriott properties I have stayed at, I had to ask about the benefit offered (if the property qualifies under the Terms and Conditions), and in other cases, the property was very vague about the benefit. It felt nice to be checked-in with staff that were on top of Marriott Bonvoy's Elite Member benefits, it was very much appreciated.
I was given a room on the 4th floor with a nice view facing the front of the hotel. The room was very clean. What really impressed me were the garbage bags in each trash can. Most Marriott properties don't provide these, but I feel it helps out housekeeping a lot with disposing of trash and recyclables, and also prevents their disposal containers from getting dirty. I also really enjoyed how the room was provided with an in-room Coffee and Tea maker and condiments. These need to make a faster comeback at other Marriott properties still removing this amenity from their rooms. However, the only disappointment I had in my room was probably the Enhanced In-Room Internet. It was a bit slow, and hard to connect to, had to clear my cookies as well as reset other things because I was not getting the sign-in window to input my room number and last name to connect for free as a Titanium Elite Member. It was the only inconvenience.
Restaurant 475 and the Starbucks in the lobby was really great. The employees working at this restaurant were always cheerful and were very professional at their jobs. We dined in one morning and ordered our food to-go the next morning. The food was great. I really enjoyed their All-American breakfast. What stood out to me with the servers was how well they interacted with the guests at the restaurant. One server did a really good job with interacting with children who were dining in the restaurant one morning by providing colored straws and other small things to keep them entertained. It felt very wholesome.
The amenities at this hotel are pretty good. The pool is an indoor whirlpool and appears to be heated as well. The hotel gym wasn't too bad either: has treadmills, ellipticals, the usual All-in-one Pulley machine, adjustable benches, a Dumbbell rack, and yoga mats and other body weight workout equipment. The only thing missing from the workout room was some sort of water cooler or fridge with mini water bottles. Otherwise, it was pretty nice.
The lounge on the 5th floor was nice and quaint, but offered an array of breakfast foods and drinks in the morning: pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruits, cereal, coffee, juices, etc. The lounge had 2 TV and several tables, a long table, window sill seats, and a sitting area near one TV.
Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this property. Definitely felt like they put in a lot of effort to bring the full Marriott experience that's still lacking at other properties. The employees at the Atlanta Marriott Peachtree Corners really knows how to treat their...
Read moreGetting this hotel was easy. When I arrived I was greeted with very friendly faces. First day I stayed and when getting in the shower there were other people rags in. Like, balled up as if they were used, just sitting on top of the soap. Bed was comfy, but unfortunately my TV did not work. I asked if someone could come up and after trying several times, was told unfortunately he could not do it. He then offered me to switch room or have somebody come in the morning who would be able to. I said well I have to leave very early and he replied I'll leave a note on the front desk and somebody can come in the morning. When getting back later the next day, I went to ask if it had been fixed and that there was a note supposed to be left. He didn't even want to look and immediately had an attitude. I understand that I could've gone to my room and checked first before asking, but you could've just gave me a yes or no or even an I'm not sure, but no it was "have you even been up there? Did you check yourself, cause am I supposed to know? This is a whole other crew and shift, then kept going. There was pure frustration in his voice and demeanor. I asked one question that required either one answer or even if you said what you said, could've been polite about it. This didn't involve or need attitude. How he came at me was Unnecessary. It was a busy day and my sin and I were exhausted. The bar crew was awesome though and so was the gentleman that helped me when I couldn't get my door open. The gentleman at night, I'm guessing he's a manager ( big tall AA guy) that seemed to hover over your receptionist everytime I saw him, was not customer service friendly. Another thing is the elder gentleman during breakfast, was making it seem as if I wasn't a resident there or faked my identification, im...not sure honestly. I was confused at what the problem was cause i put my room number to charge it to and my name and he said that not my room. That my name was not coming up in the system. I said idk what you mean, that my room this is my name, my id says it. The receptionist at the front desk found it and even she looked confused. My name NOT coming up in YOUR computer is...
Read moreI would give this hotel a poor rating but the staff here is very friendly so that has to count for something. I initially booked and cancelled my reservations here based on the comments. I re-booked because it is a "Full service Marriott" and had a good price. You get what you pay for.
Pros:
-Friendly staff -Beautiful lobby/Restaurant
Cons: -Pool was very filmy according to one guest who got in and got right back out. -Elevators and corridors on the floors were very dirty the carpet smelled like it was mildewed -EVERY piece of furniture had a stain on it or was chipped.. Bed was lumpy and sank in the middle. Walls had visible plaster where they attempted to cover up holes in the wall. -The office chair and the lounge chair had foreign object stains on it. There are NO healthy options to eat at this hotel. Everything is fried.. I got sick after ordering room service. -Breakfast also not healthy, if you are health cautious, your options are fruit in yogurt! I had the breakfast rate and had basically that the first night, sausage and french toast the second night and didn't even get breakfast the third night. Locker room in the fitness center extremely dated and smelled horrible.
My overall experience was that it was disappointing. I am pretty sure the front desk manager is going to respond to this and let you all know that they are redesigning the rooms. What she needs to understand is that they need to do more than just redesign the rooms! They also need to redesign the menu (not everybody who comes to the south wants artery-clogging food), redesign the common areas including the corridors and the elevators and redesign the pool, hot tub and locker area. Even with the redesigned rooms, the hotel still has other things that need to be overhauled. I came down here for rest and relaxation and was robbed of that. Even with the redesign, I will never stay at this hotel again! I complained the housekeeper that my room was not satisfactory, I don't think she even understood what I said or spoke English! Marriott should reevaluate if this hotel should carry it's full service model. It really should be demoted down to...
