We had a large 2 day event for 600 people and worked closely with staff for several months. Upon arrival of the event we found out that their staff could not handle this event. We paid $350 to have a private room to have dinner for the leadership team of the event and we went to the room and found it locked. Nobody knew anything about our dinner and we moved to the restaurant and some waited 45 minutes for their dinner to arrive. It was not how we wanted to start our event. The next morning we go into our banquet room and find out that they are 50 chairs short. Trying to find someone to help us took forever because the first 3 people said it wasn’t their issue to handle. We even called from the banquet room phone, only to be told she doesn’t handle that and hung up. We finally get 50 chairs brought in and are told the chairs are too heavy and they don’t have the staff to help us arrange them. We are in heels and skirts and had to scramble to rearrange the banquet room to accommodate the correct number of chairs. Our technical person and DJ arrived in the early morning hours to get set up as we were started at 7:45am registration. They spent hours getting all his equipment set up, only to find the electricity did not work on that side of the room. They scrambled and moved everything to the other side. Of course no staff could be found to try and fix the issue. We paid for a technology package that had two large screens, we found out during the event, one screen did not work. A staff person said they knew last week it didn’t work and didn’t inform us. We had $750 for a technology package with screens. Not one time did we see Jeff who was in charge of our event until the very end when he wanted payment. We called that Monday to discuss all the issues and for reimbursement of room, screen, problems etc… We left messages for Jeff, who we worked with for months. He never returned one call after a week to try and reach him. We called his boss Christine, NOT ONE RETURN PHONE CALL. I reached out to the General Manager Kevin Hill and he called me back on a Friday when I was out. I called him back and never heard back again. What a pitiful leadership team and I guess it starts at the top. We did get the $350 back for the room we had paid for the private dinner, we were informed by email. Nobody has yet to contact us, apologize for numerous issues. So do not do an event with them but a few night hotel stay is fine. It is a sad representation of a leadership team of a nice hotel all the way around. So run if you are thinking about using them for any large event. THEY...
Read moreI chose this hotel based off the reviews and either these reviews were fake or we stayed at a totally different hotel. Our three motivating factors for choosing this hotel were the pool, the steam room and sauna, and free breakfast. Check-in was an easy process and the front desk staff were very friendly. We decided to have dinner at the bar since we got in a little late. The bartender Todd was wonderful and if I could rate him separately he would receive 5 stars. Excellent customer service, great suggestions, and overall good conversation. After this everything went downhill. The room was ok, however the water situation is weird and if the room next to you flushed the toilet it will stop your water in the shower. The shower doors were sliding glass and would not stay closed. No matter which way we slid the doors one would always slide open. We needed up shoving a washcloth into the door track just to take a decent shower.
On our second day I decided to check out the steam room. I opened the door and couldn’t even walk in due to the smell of mold. There was a brown sludge on the floor that was making it’s way to the drain and black mold all around the door. I wish I would have taken a pic but frankly I felt nauseous and had to walk out immediately. The dry sauna appeared clean however I didn’t even want to go in after seeing the steam room.
Our third day was finally sunny so we went down to the pool, only for it to be closed with a sign saying closed until further notice. Asked the front desk when it would reopen, they said they didn’t know and that it was waiting on the city, meaning it likely failed some sort of inspection.
We decided to take advantage of the free breakfast on our final day, except we couldn’t find it. We finally sat down at the hotel restaurant and waited about 15 min without menus or a waiter. There were no signs indicating where breakfast was and other patrons of the hotel were looking confused to. My husband asked the front desk about the buffet which is advertised on the plazas website, but they told him they didn’t know anything about a buffet and to ask a waiter. We went back into the restaurant and flagged down the waiter and he said that they normally have the buffet but they didn’t have it today and then handed us menus for the breakfast that was NOT free.
It also looks like they charged us $200 more than they should have however the charges are still pending so I will wait to see if it’s just a incidental deposit rather than an extra charge.
All in all, we will not stay again and I wish we had chose the midtown hotels...
Read moreVery disappointing and horrible experience. I was here for my cousins wedding. They had a bunch of family and friends staying here with a number of room blocks. On the night before the wedding I dropped off my and we sat and chatted in the lobby while I gave him some final words of advise in the early hours of the morning. The next day after my wedding, I mentioned to him that as i waited for my uber to take me back to my hotel, I dozed off and was woken up by the night time concierge berating me for falling asleep and disturbing the presence of the lobby. She then proceeded to call the police on me. Three fully armed police officers showed up to "enforce" her wishes but fortunately nothing escalated. On the way out she refused to identify herself or provide any information on who she was or why she weaponized the police on a guests family. The day after the wedding both myself and my cousin called and spoke to the front office manager, I believe her name is Tiara who said she will look into the situation and call me back in 24-48 hours. It has been over a week and we have called to follow up and heard nothing back. This leads me to believe that it is an encouraged behavior to weaponize armed officers on guests families and intimidate people with law enforcement. I felt extremely vulnerable, embarrassed and scared for my life and well being in that situation and the careless and callous behavior of the staff is the direct cause of this. If you are choosing to stay here, be warned that the staff may weaponize the authorities against your guests and that management does not follow up their actions or take these things seriously. I personally would chose to stay elsewhere that myself and my family members lives are not carelessly threatened and we all feel welcomed...
