I was on a solo road trip for a few days in September 2020 and spent a Friday night at this Holiday Inn Express in Plymouth. Altogether my experience was okay... adequate, but nothing special.||||I arrived at around 9 p.m. on Friday night. My check-in process went fairly smoothly. My room (#201) was clean and comfortable enough... no problems there.||||I didn't really take advantage of any of the amenities at the hotel. The indoor pool was open to a limited number of guests, which was nice to see during the COVID pandemic. There wasn't a hot tub, so I wasn't all that interested. Breakfast in the morning was available which was nice, but it was different because a staff member would serve you. I probably could have considered partaking of the breakfast, but I didn't know (I could have asked) whether hot food items were available and whether guests were permitted to eat their breakfast at one of the tables in the dining area, as opposed to having to take their food to the room. I guess I didn't want to hassle with that, so I just opted to have breakfast at one of the fast-food places nearby.||||One thing that was disappointing was that neither of the computers in the business center were functioning properly. I often like to use the hotel computers to catch up on social media or e-mail while I'm traveling, and I was disappointed that neither of the computers were working. One of the computers wasn't working at all, and for the other computer, the keyboard batteries were dead or something, and the nice lady working at the front desk didn't have any way to fix the keyboard, replace the batteries, or whatever.||||In general, my stay was okay but this was definitely not one of the better Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed at. I'm not sure I'd want to stay here again. It was kind of expensive for...
Read moreOur stay had a rough start, but ended great. First, let me start by saying the lady at the front desk, Keely, was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. She fixed everything! Need more people like her in the hotel business. Way to go Keely!!!! Secondly, this hotel is under construction to better serve their customers. Be prepared. Lastly, let me explain our stay. We traveled over 10 hours with our family of 5. We arrived at the hotel right at check in time and everything was smooth....until we got to our room. We brought our things in, used the restroom and was about to go swimming. We noticed the toilet had a small leak. Brought this up to the hotel staff and they were quick to offer another room with no hassle. Moved to our second room and my husband noticed that toilet was leaking as well, just not as bad. I called down to the front desk and explained. She was, again, very professional and offered a third room if wanted. We were ok with this room, as we were tired from traveling all. She offered some money off our room and points towards our next stay. Finally, we thought everything was fixed. Went to get pizza for dinner, came back to our room and the air conditioner went out. Called down to the front desk, Keely apologized repeatedly, but was quick to fix the situation again. She upgraded our room to the family suite on the third floor at the still discounted (second) room price. Personally brought the keys to our room and apologized several times more. After the third room, we were finally able to relax. Things happen and stuff breaks/leaks, that's life. Also, having the hotel under renovations could cause more issues too. Again, it happens. However, the staff made every accommodation they could and made our stay great. We...
Read moreI know they are remodeling, but I’m basing my review off of the room I got as of 10/26/2023. The room was old (like not updated since the 90’s old), dingy, musty, and the A/C did not work well. When the A/C was blowing, which was seldom even though I had it set to 60deg, it smelled very mildewed. The toilet water was yellow even after flushing multiple times from the moment I opened the lid. Minimal charging ports on the nightstands. Carpet felt damp and greasy though it did appear clean. I saw several reviews showing nice updated rooms so I was hoping to receive one myself since I am a frequent customer on the IHG platform. Instead I ended up spending the night in what felt like a musty 1990’s time capsule. Absolutely NOT worth the $157/night that I was charged. That is highway robbery. Customer service was phenomenal. Breakfast was also very plentiful and good. Hope to stay here in the future once the full remodel is done and have a more pleasant experience as long as they aren’t price gouging. I would like to note also that I was extremely confused to see the entire road that leads to this Holiday Inn entrance shutdown from both directions. I did what I assumed every other guest had to do and just drove around the closure signs so that I could enter the parking lot. I’m not sure why the entire state of Indiana has such a bizarre infatuation with completely closing major roadways down all across the state for extended periods of time with little to no forewarning for motorists. I travel all over the lower 48 states and Indiana is literally the only state that does this nonsense on a broad and regular basis. Very strange. So glad I don’t...
