First, the staff was super friendly. The food was was not great. We ordered a couple of gyros, fries and fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were ok, the fries were not great and the gyros...the gyros were quite...shall we say rustic in their preparation. They were good until we each got a bite of meat that did not taste right, at that point we were done. Maybe it was an off night, maybe it's typical.
Edit: Revised my score to reflect the response from the owner, who in their comment implied that I should have called and given them the chance to influence my review, which was honest. The previous saving grace was the staff whom have now been undermined due to their management. I would ask the owner, if you knew I was going to leave a review would that have changed the food you served? It should, nor should your pressuring a reviewer alter an honest review. I would suggest instead of trolling negative comments you take that feedback and seek to understand if it has merit and make adjustments if necessary, if not the rest of the reviews should settle the balance. We are here based on reviews and were disappointed, the review...
Read moreI'd give it 5 stars for the food but be very clear at the speaker because if they mishear you, they make you pay for it. My family doesn't eat mammals. My daughter especially, she is the reason we started this. I ordered her a chicken gyro because poultry and fish are the only meats she will eat. We ordered $30 worth of food in addition and it was all great/perfect, but they gave us a regular gyro-not chicken. When I went back around, I wasn't bothered, it's an honest mistake, and I asked for a replacement. We had the regular one on the dash of my car- clearly untouched. The guy made a point to go look for our order, point to what he wrote and argue with me about it. I told him I was sorry and that I'm sure he misheard me because I would never order a regular gyro for my child who won't eat it. He made me buy her a replacement. I had to- what was I gonna do, not feed my kid? I've never in my life been treated that way. Like I was lying and then made to pay for their mistake.
Their food is awesome, but just make sure you are 100% clear at the window or they'll make you pay for...
Read moreHidden behind a Taco Bell away from the main road a bit, It's the only Halal spot for at least 30 miles, might as well try it if you're on the way to Indianapolis or Columbus or Cleveland from Chicago. Nothing to write home about, but if you'd rather support a small business instead of the fiends at McDonald's, Subway, or Burger King, it's an option.
The fish and gyros aren't too shabby, the fries are crispy. For the first 20 min anyway. They don't have anything spicy because their local clientele think that ketchup is spicy. I'd post a menu pic because that's all you lazy muffs want out of a maps review anyway, but for the halal crowd your options are fish or gyros. You'll spend 5-10$ a person, get water from the grocery store nearby.
It's close to a main US route, but there's no highways here. You're unlikely to come across this unless you're a trucker, and new to the business. I say that because truckers are people of habit. Bad habits. That's why they continue to support mega corps they deliver for but squeeze their wages...
