Where do I start? This place is amazing. It is literally one block to the beach, half a block from mini golf, and one block from the south side of Jenkinson's. Our previous recent vacations have been to Disney World and Sand Pebble is now our preference. The room we had was clean with no dust, hairs, or any other issues. The room itself which was a suite was huge, and big enough for my 4.5 year old to run around in and entertain himself when it was raining. We had a large mini fridge and microwave which we planned because the food at the boardwalk is insanely expensive. There are chairs outside the room to sit and hang out, and the pool (which is warm!) is steps from the rooms. There is a snack bar which is really a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. The food is better than most of the diners near us in North Jersey (and the key, less expensive than the boardwalk)... I was worried about the noise level because this is the Jersey shore, but we could barely hear anything. Our last night, we heard some young kids running and screaming at around 9:30 pm but called the desk (our son couldn't sleep) and the noise stopped immediately. They are quick to address any issues. The owner Anthony, front desk people Shirley and Chris are all personable and quick to start conversations. You can tell they have a regular following who has been coming here a long time. The people staying here are all families, no one partying which I was worried about. It was nice to see many extended families hanging out by the pool. My parents came for one night and also loved it, and are planning to come with us next year. My-in laws also plan to book a stay. I grew up going to the same place every year for our family vacations, and have always wanted to find that for our family. We are happy to have a place that is only an hour and 15 min away from home, convenient to 7-11, local urgent cares, Stop n Shop, and Dunkin Donuts (both 3 min). I would rather come here for a reasonable amount of money with everything close by than fly all of the way to Florida. We just got home yesterday and already booked next summer and a long weekend...
Read moreMy daughter and I have been visiting point Pleasant for a yearly 3 night mother-daughter getaway since the summer following her graduation from high school. This was our first time staying at the Sand Pebble, and I must say we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else next year! From the initial booking over the phone, to the checkout, and all the time(s) in between, every staff member we encountered was super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and we found the beds very comfortable. (We do bring our own pillows whenever we travel, so I can't attest for those.) The pool was crystal clear and definitely being thoroughly enjoyed by other guests (we're ocean girls!). Right by the pool, there was a "snack shack" open @ 7 AM for coffee and breakfast items... very convenient if you don't feel like venturing too far in the morning. There were other beverages, lunch choices, and snacks available through the late afternoon/early evening. There's also a sundeck with a table and lounge chairs for relaxing. We enjoyed having our coffee up there in the morning. Although it is RIGHT across the street from the beach, you'll need to walk 4 short blocks to use the very highly discounted beach passes you can buy at the front desk. It's a very short walk on the sidewalks of Ocean Avenue as opposed to trying to work through the boardwalk "traffic". Although we didn't feel this as an inconvenience, some may. If that's the case then you can always pay full price for the beach that's right there (we never knew that there were actually 2 separate beaches on the boardwalk). There were also discounted ride/attraction cards available, of which we took advantage. We loved the place, and are both very much looking forward to getting back...
Read moreWe recently returned from a few days in Point Pleasant and based on the many motels and reviews we have read, decided to try the Sand Pebble. Unfortunately, people do not post pics and most pictures of the rooms are from several years ago. For tat reason, I took pics to help with those undecided folks looking for decent accommodations.
That being said, my experience began with my call for a reservation and speaking with Shirley (Temple LOL) who was so nice and friendly on the phone that it made me feel like I had already made the right choice. The rooms are what you would expect at a seaside resort. The furniture was a bit outdated, but in good shape. We had a king size bed upstairs. It was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and we both had slept well on it. The housekeeping was wonderful and thorough for daily service. We had a small fridge and TV and plenty of outlets for our phones, laptop, etc. Soap, Shampoo/Conditioner and plenty of towels. However, there was no hairdryer in the room. We had our own so no issue. The grounds and pool area were clean and well kept. I did peak into a double room on the lower level and the furnishings did look more modern and like upstairs, clean and well kept.
Bottom line, we would definitely stay next time in Point Pleasant. Thanks...
