Me and my wife and 1 year old daughter were heaving an amazing time at point Pleasant Beach. Which was ruined by one person, Linda the manager at the food shack. We ordered food and were asked if we were staying or going to the beach. We said we were staying because we wanted to get our daughter out of the heat. So we waited for our food that we got in to go containers. Which was ok because they were busy and accidents happen. We took our food and went to sit down. Then Linda approaches us and starts telling us we are not allowed to sit inside because we ordered the food to go. She then begins to lecture us about how we were wasting containers, she made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. Her staff had to apologize for her behavior and other customers at the restaurant came up to us and told us she was out of line. When we approached her after the meal and told her how she made us feel she “ oh stop it, i don’t have time for this.” Linda should be washing dishes and have no access to customers as I would rather drive a half hour away then eat at a place that treats...
Read moreWe sat at the counter with a full view of the kitchen and the staff. The cooks were absolutely crushing it; working fast, focused, and clearly doing their best to get orders out accurately and on time. The same cannot be said for the staff handling the orders.
We overheard multiple mistakes being discussed among the staff, and eventually, one of them admitted directly: "We accidentally gave your order to someone else. Your food is coming up". Keep in mind, this was after waiting 45 minutes just to be seated and then an additional hour and 30 minutes waiting for our food. The food was delicious by the way (thank you cooks).
At what point does this stop being a mistake and start being a reflection of poor training? If you consistently hand off meals to the wrong tables, that’s not an accident, it’s poor workmanship.
They’re going to waste the talent coming out of that kitchen that are getting this place all the wonderful reviews you're reading and end up losing customers because the servers and management...
Read moreI discovered this charming little spot on Instagram, and since I was staying in the area, I figured I would check them out. I have visited Point Pleasant so many times in the past 10+ years, and it amazes me that I have never heard of this place before....and I am kicking myself for not coming here sooner.
This place and everything about it is totally awesome. The service I have received from the young waitstaff was kind, courteous, and attentive, and the food here is great. Word to the wise..they open at 7:30am so I suggest if you want a table for either inside or out, you need to get here as early as possible as tables go super fast. For the three days I was in Point Pleasant, I made it a point to arrive prior to them opening.
For being a small place they have a good size menu and the prices are very reasonable. They also have a cute little shop with good gift ideas and changing stations.
This is one of the best eateries in the area, and I will definitely come back the next time I am in...
