Do not stay here!
Stayed June 2023 for 8 days, and the whole family was completely disappointed. Upon arrival we were given the wrong level room. We booked a plus and got standard, a significant downgrade. When challenged the staff claimed our plus reservation was not in their system and the situation was out of their control. When we presented the manager with printed verification of the plus reservation, the attitude changed and they suddenly âfoundâ our plus reservation. However, there were no plus rooms available, in the managers own words âtoo many last minute reservationsâ. Which in reality means they gave our room away to someone who requested an upgrade. After much discussion and very rude treatment from the management, they found us a plus room, but it was not available until the next day. Meaning, we had to vacate the room before 12:00, put all of our luggage into storage and wait around until the staff was good and ready to finally give us the correct room. Essentially, we lost an entire day of vacation because of the mix-up. The Palm Aire management refused to take any responsibility for the issue, and instead told us there was no need âto get snippyâ when we were very upset with their lack of professionalism and ability to provide the service we paid for. At one point the manager outright ignored my wife, stopped conversation with her, turned away, and attempted to only address the situation with me. Obviously an unprofessional tactic that was not welcome or accepted. We should have heeded the other online reviews about the blatant bait and switch tactics. Completely set a bad time for the whole stay.
Beyond this issue (which supposedly we might get a refund for that one night difference) the facilities were at best, just OK. Compared to Wyndham resorts like Bonnet Creek and the Great Smokies, this place is a dump. Dirty floors and carpets. Beat up appliances. A garbage disposal that sounded like it was going to fall out of the sink, and more. The pool towel vending machines were frequently empty during peak times and late hours. On premise amenities were barely average quality, the bar was just sad, and there were no quality food options. Most of the luggage carts were barely functional with work out bearings that made them difficult to move. Our patio was covered in black mold/dirt and desperately needed to be pressure washed. This was also visible on the buildings facing the main pool. I could keep going but you get the point. This is NOT a luxury resort, period.
To top off the whole trip, my wife accidentally left her Dyson hair dryer in the master bathroom and didnât realize it was missing until the next morning. Partly because the cleaning staff was rushing us out of the room BEFORE the checkout time! We called at 6am, but the front desk staff was inept and unable to answer if the item had been found. We were instructed to call back at 9am when the house keeping department opened. We called, and again staff was unable to answer the question. Instead the staff said they would call back. Hours later, nothing. I called again and the house keeping staff rudely informed me that my wife had called at 9am, and they hasnât found out anything. However, the staff person abruptly cut herself off mid sentence, and said they didnât find anything in our room and that it was already occupied, so there was nothing else they could do. Does that sound like a professional response? Not to me! So either the cleaning staff is completely incompetent and didnât see a large bright blue storage box on the bathroom counter while âcleaningâ and the new occupants claimed the item as their own, OR the cleaning staff saw it and stole it. Iâm not sure which one is worse. Regardless, I do not hold them liable for the missing item, it was out mistake to leave it behind, but that sure doesnât make you feel good at the end of an already less than stellar stay at what is sold as a luxury resort.
I donât recommend this place and it this was the last straw for us with Wyndham. We are divesting. Anyone want to buy...
Read moreI stayed at Wyndham Palm-Aire a couple of months ago and it was great - staff was very friendly and I had a nice two bedroom unit in the Fountain Palm building. I decided to come back and bring friends for a birthday trip. Could not have imagined how terrible this experience would be and Iâm extremely embarrassed I brought friends here. When we arrived we were told the resort was full and they didnât have our two bedroom for us (which we had reserved) but they could put us in a one bedroom for the first night and move us the next afternoon. My guests wanted to get settled in one place so the front desk staff member said they had one two-bedroom unit left over at the golf course. We didnât want to stay there because we had taken a Lyft from the airport and no longer had transportation and we wanted to be close to the amenities at the main resort for the same reason (at this point we hadnât seen how sketchy the âbuilding by the golf courseâ was). When we asked if we could have two one bedroom units instead of the two bedroom unit at the main resort since they said they didnât have a two bedroom for us, we were told it wasnât possible for the person helping us to make that kind of decision. We asked to speak to a manager/supervisor and were told they were gone for the day and couldnât be reached. We asked if we could get a ride over to the building by the golf course (called Queen Palm, which sounds nice, right?) and were told the bell hop who drove guests over in a golf cart had gone for the day as well. What could we do because one one-bedroom just wasnât going to work logistically for us? Finally someone asked the security team if they could drive us and our luggage over. The Queen Palm building is very sketchy and looks like an old strip motel. It is off the main property and outside the security gate. We had our misgivings but we went to check out our room - it was already occupied and Iâm not sure who was more startled when we opened the door. Now we were stuck outside (at night) without a ride. I called the front desk and they werenât picking up. Finally got ahold of someone and had to stand there waiting 20 minutes for keys to a different room. (Also, the room they had given us that was occupied - now their keys didnât work for their room any longer.) We were finally put into a two bedroom unit at the old strip motel but it isnât the resort stay birthday celebration I had planned on after staying here previously (nothing like their pictures of a beautiful resort). I canât believe they didnât make any amends and will be calling to make plans somewhere else tomorrow once reservations are open. I do not recommend this resort due to the possibility you can end up in the less than desirable location across the street and it feels like false advertising. They want my friends to attend the sales pitch - how do they expect to sell any timeshares with this kind of poor product...
Read moreWhat happen to this place đ¤Śđťââď¸ I have stayed here many times as a renter I always thought very highly of it one of my favorite resorts to stay ! Untill March 10th-15 2024 we found a listing on Craigslist made a deal with the owner for 2 bedroom we arrived for check in at 4:00 and was told they have no room available if we can give them sometime and that was fine no big deal they called us 10 mins later the room was ready ! We was not in the room for more then 10 mins my daughter slips and falls walking in to the kitchen ( the rug and tiles was really wet they did not dry them ) called security they took a statement and mentioned the tiles was just cleaned she was in pain but she waited it out next day she was in more pain went to the er they give her medication and told her to folllow up . Back to the room not only was the rug and tile in the front ridiculous wet so was the rug and the room ⌠the ac was not working they sent some one to fix it he reset it throw out cold for a few hours then went out again this happen many times the nights was horrible tossing and turning with sweats they sent another person up same thing fixed it for a few hours and it went out again ! The toilet did not flush the water pressure was ridiculously low in the kitchen the shower head would keep falling down as someone was showering .. so where at a resort thatâs making it difficult to shower or use the toilet and itâs freaking hot at all times the washing machine does not drain the clothes when we called they said the engineer is not working (we got stuck with soaked wet clothes ) . On the porch at around 12:00 am guy starts yelling and cussing wanted to argue called the security on them . Spoke with the resort manager Kate asked her very I nicely the least the resort can do is comp one extra night to make up for all the difficultyâs she says she will see what she can do calls the next day offers points for one night to be credited back to the owners account I explained I am a renter she offers a gift card for $125 for my wife to pick up after 3:00 under her name I donât fell that was a good offer what so ever it was embarrassing if anything then they call the owner and ask him to come pick it up he thinks heâs intitled to it so he keeps it ! What does this have to do with the owner why did the manager issue him a card he was not staying there how did this effect him in any way ????The more I sit in think the more upset I get on how this was handled kate has the worst sense of management I still canât believe how bad this went down this room 581 needs to be redone asap someone
Management I hope you see this !! Not a way to manage a resort itâs a damn shame not only was my daughter hurt her time at the resort was ruined she could not do simple thing like go to the pool or for that fact shower or use the freaking toilet or wash clothes...
