
NOTE-My review was very honest. NY Quartzâs response had a number of LIES. Committed to Transparency & Professionalism? Not in my case! The salesman included wall support as part of the installation.Thatâs a FACT. Also, the installers did do damage & were irresponsible! And, after the installation disaster, they had the nerve to ask for more money! They donât take responsibility!!!
After my lousy experience with NY Quartz, I decided to read a number of their Google reviews.
There were clearly two types of experiences people had: A vast majority were very happy with the product & service.
But, a percentage, who had issues/problems, had a similar experience as I did.
A test of a good business is not only they do a good job, but how they handle problems.
This is where NY Quartz failed.
So, Be Wary.
STORY Went to their beautiful showroom. Sales staff was cordial and helpful. Caio, one of their salespeople, was my salesman & contact person.
I was looking to buy a quartz remnant for my laundry closet. I followed Caio to their quarry & found a remnant I liked. One of the workers at the quarry who helped find the remnant said they would install 2x4âs as wall support.
At their showroom, Caio had the contract prepared-I signed and gave the 50% required deposit. The total was $951 complete-It included on-site measurement, fabrication $ installation.
Caio and I spoke several times that the total includes THEM installing wall support, and each time we discussed it, he said yes. However, the contract just stated the word installation without any details.
Two sons of the owner came to measure. Very nice guys. I asked them if they thought the 2x4âs would be sufficient support. They said it would. Also, they saw I had cabinets above the machines & wallpaper within the closet, plus a refrigerator nearby that protruded a few inches. All relevant, as it was going to be a tight fitâthe refrigerator would definitely need to be pulled out of the way. (They didnât mention anything about the refrigerator)
INSTALLATION Two men came to install. I thought they were going to install the 2x4âs support, but they knew nothing about it.
What they did next was crazy. Lucky for me they didnât succeed. They attempted to place the very heavy countertop directly onto the machines. Remember, the refrigerator juts out several inches so they were having difficulty getting the piece in. They decided to give up & move the piece back out. However, they damaged my brand new wallpaper and a piece of the sheetrock wall.
They called Caio to tell him the situation, and were told to leave with the piece.
OWNER INTERACTION This is where Iâm warning anyone who reads my story. I thought this was an upscale, standup business. I was taken aback by my dealing with both the owner, and Anna, his assistant.
He was not honoring the deal I made with the salesman. He said it just says installation and nothing about support. I said, âask Caio, he knowsâ. Also, he said any damage is not their responsibility, as stated in the contract. But, what were their installers even thinking? If they succeeded & got it onto the machines they would have severely dented the machines.
Anna then went over the costs to complete: $350 to install the wall support. $475 for a re-installation charge. (since they couldnât install the 1st time). $175 for the size being larger than I stated. First of all, I owned the entire remnant piece for $500. And, the wall is only 6â at its largest point & the remnant was 29â in width. I told them 6â feet and the width was fine at contract signing. (Also, Caio should have told me the price could change at measuring-you see a pattern here?) OR I can take a full refund of the money I gave them to date. (50% deposit, 25% at time of measurement)
Clearly, the owner didnât want to deal with this problem. I took the refund. They did refund it immediately, so I will give them that.
But, if there is a problem, I see they immediately look to fight and not do what I know good businesses do.

Ben is our contractor and he does great work so when he said we should try NY Quartz we were happy to visit them. We met Gabriel and our experience started out well however we were uncomfortable with the sales tactics he employed. He wouldn't tell us the prices of the different samples, just that we should pick out what we like as it wasn't "a 3k or 4k job" so we picked out three different samples, rejected one right away and got the pricing for the other two. At no point during the pitch did he tell us that we could select a different design where we could get a half-slab for almost half the price even though we told him about our price concerns. We told our contractor in the morning about our experience and he was less than pleased because he knew we had been taken advantage of. I called NY Quartz on Monday morning and they did refund the deposit we had placed on the slab, requesting that we come back and try again with a different sales person. We agreed, deciding to give them another chance, and met with Tony. He was alright at first and we found one remnant stone that we thought would work (they also never told us we could buy remnant slabs the first time) and we went back to the office to look at prices. They were much better this time around but the banter was strained and Tony was more interested in speaking with the new customers that came into the office at the end of our negotiations. He told my husband that he couldn't blame the salesman for what he did, they work off of commission. My husband replied that we absolutely could blame the original salesman. I come home and the next morning I tell the contractor about the second experience and he called them about it. Almost as soon as he hangs up the phone, Tony calls me to harass me about what I said to the contractor, emphasizing my point.    Read moreWe were in need of a kitchen remodel but dreaded the process. After some careful research, we chose New York Quartz for the project. Their many recent favorable reviews made us choose them.
We contacted the Company, and lucky for us, Ana Antelo answered the phone. Speaking with her made us feel comfortable that we were choosing the right company for our project. She quickly put our minds at ease answering all the questions we had.
The quickness of the process was amazing. She set up an appointment to visit the house the next day to see what we currently had, listened to our wants, and set out her vision as how to proceed.
One week later we visited their showroom to look at quartz samples. Afterwards, she took us to the stone yard to see the actual slabs. We fell in love with one piece and knew this was the one.
The demo of our existing countertop and installation of the new one was scheduled for the following week. Once the existing countertop and sink were removed, the new ones were installed. The newly painted cabinets and drawers were also installed the same day.
The team that did all the work was incredible. Sonny was meticulous with his measurements and Marcelo did a wonderful job in restoring the cabinets and drawers. The install techs certainly knew their trade and did an excellent job with the quartz countertop and back splash.
We can't say enough good things about our interactions with Ana. She is knowledgeable and had good recommendations. She was on-site every step of the way; from the initial visit, to the measurements, to being with us the entire day of the demo and install. She was on the phone with us throughout, keeping us in the loop, and always saying we can contact her with any questions or concerns.
We can't thank New York Quartz enough. They managed to put a smile on our faces after we dreaded thinking of how this project could have gone wrong.
