Aviation American Gin — Attraction in Portland

I really enjoyed this! I love the history of all things. Aviation has a wonderfully fun story. I’m from this area so it was nice to be like “ hey there’s more than just maraschino cherries that was made locally too me growing up! “ the bottling process was interesting I couldn’t quite understand what the guide was say it was so loud and my attention span is shorter than Danny Devito, so that didn’t help either in the learning stages. The escape room was my favorite, it was so much fun. My team apparently got the newest record for time… and I’m here to proudly says I did nothing to help them. #teamsupport. I did however get whacked by a lady’s bag who was on my team and I just assumed that’s part of the experience. I mean they didn’t ask for my medical insurance or if my last wishes were in order before we entered the room, so I was confident the mortality rate was low and I would have survived… even if I got whacked by a bag. The gift shop was also my favorite, tbh I just came here for the store and escape room. My friend tried the drinks while I stood 5 feet from the bar watching her while I drank a Coke. Came here for the tour. Thought it was both a lot of fun and informative. What you need to know as the website/Google maps listing is missing on details (they only opened up tours in September so sort of understandable but not great for tourists)

The tour cost $35 and runs for about an hour. It starts on the hour, and you are suggested to show up about 10 mins ahead of time. I made the mistake of arriving at 1205 to be told I had to wait till 1 for the next tour 🙃. It does go for every hour, and on fri-sun when it isn't manufacturing you don't need to wear the safety vests someone else mentioned.

It goes over the history of the distillery, and how they now manufacture at scale, but also do it as a zero waste facility which is impressive

Two units of alcohol are included, one with just the spirit, and another in the signature cocktail.

I had so much fun going on a tour here. Our tour guide was funny, engaging and knowledgeable…tour was a perfect mix of knowledge, fun and interaction. Best part…you got to taste the gin solo and in a drink.

The distillery itself was top notch, very well though out and designed…I think my only wish is the drinks you ordered at the bar would be made to order and not from a tap. I love making drinks myself so it would add to the experience to be able to watch bartenders make the drinks for you instead of quickly pouring from a tap. Other than that, oh and not seeing Ryan Reynolds in real life…this place...
