Third time's as charm, kind of? I stayed here 3 times over a month period. First, when I was leaving to go to Ireland. I stayed one night and left my car parked in the lot. The room was spacious, extended parking was easy and affordable, and that's where the good ended. The carpet in the hallways were piling up which created a tripping hazard. The chairs were so comically low compared to the table that I felt like a child reaching up to eat my breakfast (no breakfast or any food available on site). I had an early morning and got ready for my shower, but the shower would not turn on at all. I ended up having to wash up in the sink, which is not how I wanted to start my overseas trip. I told the lady at the front desk about the shower and she said she would make a note of it and when I came to pick up my car I would have some sort of refund. She then ordered a Lyft for me to go to the airport (no shuttle service). Or, she thought she did. 15 mins later I'm still waiting and go to ask, and the order was never submitted. A Lyft came a few minutes later. When I returned from my trip, I had to call 4 times before someone answered to order my Lyft back to the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, I found out my car battery had died, somehow. I would have to wait til the morning to get a new one, so I asked about booking a room for the night, mentioning if the refund I was supposed to get would be applied to the room. There was no note of any refund. The manager said he would give me 25% off, but then quoted me a price $20 more than I had originally paid. I told him I had paid $80 a week ago, so why would I pay $100 now (which was the "discount"). He said he could never go that low. I needed a room, and went on Expedia and booked the same room he told me was normally $130, for $77. Never did get any refund. Room was fine. Shower worked. There was a hair tie on the floor, and the bathroom sink did not drain. I stayed a third time 3 weeks later (already had booked in advance and couldn't get anywhere cheaper with short notice, otherwise I would have canceled the reservation). This time was before I had to drop my partner off at the airport. Check in was fine, room and shower were adequate, carpet seemed a bit better in the hallway. There was no TV remote in the room, however, so we had to change channels manually. But compared to the other two visits, it was a big improvement. That said, I still won't be returning to this hotel. I'll pay a little bit more somewhere else before going through all...
Read moreWe are here for 3 weeks for my husbandâs work training. After reading reviews from here and (Shilo Inn Portland Airport the former name), I was scared to stay with our 19 month old. We decided to come a few days before classes started to check out Portland. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The room although dated is huge and was very clean, all of the staff have been nothing short of amazing. They have been so kind and helpful even printing out directions for us. I stopped to the front desk asking to get our room vacuumed as the baby is messy and they sent someone right up to clean and restock toiletries. If your coming here expecting the Marriott your going to be disappointed. If you come with realistic expectations for the price youâll be fine. The rooms have a kitchen/living room area with a small fridge and microwave. The beds are in a separate semi private area and the bathroom is large. There is also a large vanity area with a sink as well (3 sinks in the room total). There is a grill available for use outside. The restaurant and pool are currently closed as the hotel goes through renovations. However they do offer free Lyft rides within 5 miles and there are a few restaurants within walking distance as well. There is on site laundry, vending and ice machines are functional on the first floor.
For families reading this coming in similar situations as us for an extended stay they gave us a free ride to Walmart and Target, I picked up a crockpot and toaster which makes making meals and saving money much easier! If youâre traveling with littles who require a car seat itâs checked free at the airport and youâll need it for the Lyft. I called the hotel front desk when we landed and by the time we got to the parking garage our ride was there.
As the hotel undergoes renovations with its new management I think itâs going to continue to improve and be a great economical option close to...
Read moreI stayed on Friday the 2nd of August and the only reasons it's not a one star review is the rooms are decent and I'm giving them the benefit of doubt that it was just a one off bad experience. This hotel used to be a shilo inn that I have stayed st multiple times which is why I choose them. I hadn't slept in over 36hrs do to work and traveling I just need 1 night of good sleep well about 12:45am about 4hrs after I checked in I got a knock at the door from the staff telling me my room is reserved for (insert guest) and asking me if that was me.(clearly wasn't as it was a female name and I'm a male) before I could answer the staff at the door cut me off and said no it isn't and proceeded to tell me to come down to the desk with my ID and seemed to be accusing me of doing something that i wasnt. So I did they checked it in the computer and the the 2 staff at the desk started talking about how I have a reservation and someone in the hotel messed up. They then told me I could go back to my room and muttered a very fake and strained sorry like they were still blaming me for thier mess up. I understand mistakes and mixups happen and try to be a understanding person and rarely leave reviews especially bad ones but this was unacceptable no professionalism at all which is a...
