My wife and I stayed at the Land's End Inn in late June for our first time. Even before we left, we were thinking of when we would return. The ownership of the Land's End seem to keep every detail carefully considered well attended. That's no small feat for an inn this large and old. There is something interesting nearly everywhere you look inside. To keep it all so carefully arranged and spotlessly clean is simply amazing. The exterior in June is stunning with nearly every bush and plant in full bloom. It may be hard to believe, but it was even more beautiful than the promotional pictures. I could barely spot a single weed in the gardens. Coupled with the hill-top views of the bay, ocean, and town - it looks and feels like paradise.||We stayed in the Tiger Lily room, which was perfect for us. I wouldn't try to fit any more than two people in this room. We had a nice balcony with a westward view of the bay. The bed was very comfortable and housekeeping was immaculate. Even though it was small, the bathroom was roomy enough. They do a good job of making the most of the space they have to provide you places to put your belongings. We had no issues at all with noise from other guests that is mentioned in other reviews. Maybe it was because our stay was Sunday to Wednesday and it was less crowded.||I thought the location was close to ideal. We didn't want to be in the center of town with the commotion at night. The Land's End is realistically about a 15 minute walk away from the more active parts of Commercial St. Not bad, but it might be challenging for someone with mobility issues. Bikes are a great idea, but you need to be careful as you're heading against the one-way oncoming cars on the narrow street. Management sent directions on how to find the "back door" to the inn, which is well worth paying attention to. It's a good idea to just park the car and forget about it for a couple days. Herring Cove beach is just a few minutes away and easily bike-able. Same thing with access to bike trails.||The breakfast was nice. I would consider to be a step above normal continental breakfast, with a small hot egg dish available each day. There's also the daily happy hour for guests. We only participated one night and found it to be a nice touch.||Finally, the management and staff were fantastic ... friendly and very attentive. You can tell they enjoy being there and doing...
Read moreI'm pretty picky about reviews, especially with hotels... I travel a LOT and I can count on one hand the number of good reviews I've given to hotels.
This one was above most. B&B run by 2 gracious and helpful guys... I'm not good with names.
I stumbled like a klutz and broke a decorative plate on one of the walls in my room and they didn't make me pay for it or feel guilty about it. Just basically said "no big deal," and they have "tons of decor in storage." Amazing service.
Pros: Hosts were both very friendly; room was beautiful; bed was comfortable; view was amazing; and great sitting areas, both inside and outside of our room, (which was a King room on the main floor.)
I didn't get to use one because they were both occupied, but the hotel has 2 EV charging ports!
Slight Con is the location... parking is difficult and sparse, and the B&B is at the end of the peninsula, away from everything, so it's a walk to food and entertainment, but that could be a huge Pro for many folks. They didn't give me any @#% for parking in their temp spot, which was the only spot left within about half a mile overnight.
Biggest Con with this hotel (and all hotels on the Cape actually) was a lack of plugins for power/USB ports near the bed. Floors me that in this day and age this issue still exists.
Breakfast was an afterthought, so if that is a major part of your idea of the Breakfast in "Bed and Breakfast," this isn't the place for you. I think it was an abbreviated continental, (pretty much with just toast, if I remember right. I had to eat again later that morning.)
This was a quaint B&B that we would return to if we ever get back...
Read moreFirst visit. Came here for my 65th birthday celebration and I had the best time. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing. Clint at the front was super, Joe the happy hour bartender was awesome. I treated myself to the Bay Tower room and it was beautiful and perfect for my celebration. The large deck was impressive for the 2 nights I had people over for aperitifs, soaking in the fantastic views. Our bed was super comfy and we loved the Molton Brown amenities.
Breakfast was plentiful with something for everyone. Decent coffee, bagels and muffins, frittata every day, fruit and yogurt, cereal, orange juice and more.
The grounds are just beautiful and well maintained, a gorgeous garden with lots of flowers. The bunnies come out at night.
The hotel is located in the far west end of town, nice and quiet but far from most restaurants and shops. This wasn’t a problem for us since we always rent bicycles. But I would advise you to consider the location if you don’t plan on renting bicycles or driving around which can be difficult because parking is very tight.
Anyway, I’ve got nothing but great things to say about this hotel, and I can’t wait to go back. Highly...
