I have been to PTown quite a few times, but not since pre pandemic, and in that time the inn I used to frequent closed. So...I thought The Anchor Inn looked like a good replacement, and holy cow I am so glad I did! |I can't speak highly enough about The Anchor Inn. The location is absolutely perfect. Right on Commercial Street and in the spot where if you turn in one direction you are right were all the restaurants, shops, bars, action, etc. is and if you turn in the other direction you are right in the quieter more residential part of town. |Despite being in the heart of everything our room was quiet and we got the best sleep. Now, I think if you stayed on a lower floor or in a room facing Commercial Street that may not be the case, but our room at the end of the hallway on the third floor was just perfect. We had an amazing deck with the best view around! We hardly spent any time on it because there was so much else to do outside, but the view is unbeatable and you could watch the fireworks right from the comfort of our room on the 4th. |I honestly didn't try the breakfast, so I can't speak to that, but my husband said that while it was pretty basic it was all that you needed, and right out our door you could get breakfast at numerous delicious places. |I really can't think of anything negative to say about The Anchor Inn. The staff was all super friendly and attentive, though we hardly had reason or need to interact with anyone. |Location can't be beat. |Our room was large, and perfectly appointed for a beach vacation. |If you are looking for super fancy this may not be the place for you, as there aren't any bells and whistles that other places may have, but honestly, with this location, view, etc. you don't need many other amenities. |We almost want to book our next trip already! If/when we go back to PTown we will be sure to stay here. |Thanks for...
Read moreMy spouse and I had the somewhat unique experience of staying in two rooms at this inn during our "Women's Week," first-time trip to Provincetown, two nights in a small room and two nights in a large room. If I were rating the first room in this review, I would be giving a pretty poor review, as the room was small and missing many basic amenities for guests' comfort, e.g., lack of a luggage rack, nowhere at all to hang your towels in the bathroom, a damaged ceiling in the bathroom, etc. Definitely not worth the price charged. But because the fireplace was not working in this room during our first two nights, the innkeepers moved us to a bigger, more expensive room on the harbor-side of the inn, which turned our stay into the difference between night and day. Ah, not only were there basic amenities missing in the first room, but there was the working fireplace, the comfortable couch, the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. This saved our whole stay to the point where we felt relieved and happy to pay the extra costs! I would give an enthusiastic review for this second room were it not for the other minor aspect of the lack of breakfast items we could eat; we advised in advance that we were vegan but no accommodations were made for us (when the innkeeper replied before our stay, he basically said, "the continental breakfast is what it is!" when all we were hoping for was some oat milk for our coffee and cereal) so we could not enjoy most of the continental breakfast offered, except a few bananas and on the last morning when peanut butter appeared to enjoy with the bagels. In the end, we were pleased with our last two nights, but we agreed that we would probably not return to this inn. Others who are non-vegan might enjoy, but we strongly advise: Stay in one of the larger, harbor-side rooms and go elsewhere if you can't get one of...
Read moreMe mates let me just start off and say this place is top notch, I know the pandemic has put most business in a tough spot but the way they are making their clients feel comfortable is second to none. The owner (I believe he was the owner, nice looking young man who was a pleasure to work with, drove a beautiful red Audi I was jelly of lol) I took me lady on a weekend getaway and Provincetown was one of our stops, I did my research a lot as I wanted this to be special for her. Anchor Inn Beach House not only had all the bells and whistles but combined with the friendly staff it really made for a great experience. No driving needed, walk out the front door and you're right on Provincetown's most popular strip filled with awesome stores and plenty of great restaurants to choose from. The room we stayed in was great but the best thing of all was the balcony that looked right over the ocean, so beautiful sitting there with me soulemate watching the sun go down and up. Everything was extremely clean and they even had a fireplace and big spa hot tub as extra goodies :) I can't praise them enough, we will definitely be making our way back and I would recommend to anyone checking out Anchor Inn before deciding on a place to stay while in the area as I don't believe you're going to...
