You know your experience at a restaurant is going to be excellent when upon arrival you’re greeted by kind people who are smiling and exude confidence and a true welcoming feeling. This is Sean! Sean is a true asset to the Joon Bar establishment. My wife and I arrived Saturday evening thinking our reservation was for 6pm, but came to learn quickly, we were 1 week early.
Joon Bar was fully booked, clearly because everyone knows how great this restaurant is!
When Sean learned of our mistake, he literally moved mountains to make room for us. Thank you Sean! Your humor, your resourcefulness and your willingness to be creative to fit us in was, incredible! This kind of flexibility & thoughtfulness is not a trait found too often these days at restaurants, but a Joon Bar, it is!
Now onto the service & the food! Upon being sat at the bar, we met Billy and once again, another amazing person! Billy greeted us with a warm welcome! He went on to highlight a few great wines / cocktails he made some suggestions regarding appetizers and then gave an overview of the dinner specials. We started out with the whipped feta / cucumber salad and fried olives - All 5 stars! Our main course we had the pappardelle pasta and New York strip steak- Both were outstanding!
Thank you Joon Bar and thank you Sean & Billy for making our first Joon Bar experience a EXCELLENT one. See...
Read moreI am being generous with three stars. Previously, this was our favorite restaurant in Provincetown. We went there last night to find that the prices were outrageous for what you get and the menu is limited. Most entrées are $50 or above. We started with a soup and a salad, which were good. No bread offerings unless you purchase it as a separate appetizer. My husband‘s $36 burger was very good but they charge for the extras (Cheese and bacon) that are listed on the menu. I wanted to get the bouillabaisse but did not want muscles in it, and the waiter was emphatic that they could not leave out the muscles! Seriously, is that so hard? I ordered the falafel which came with two falafel balls, a very soggy cucumber, tomato salad, and a side of dipping sauce. The problem with it was that the dipping sauce was as thin as water. It was impossible for it to stick to either the pita bread or the two falafel balls. The option was to either do without or dip your food in a watery substance that basically ruined it. It should’ve never left the kitchen. So.. the soup, a salad, a burger and the falafel balls along with two drinks and a beer came to $150. $180 with gratuity. For $180 I expected a lot more. It seems to me that the menu limitations and the quality of the food has...
Read moreI had an exceptional experience at Joon Bar in Provincetown on August 29th, where the ambiance perfectly captured the essence of a modern American bistro. The cozy yet chic atmosphere made it an ideal spot for a relaxed yet refined evening. The drink menu stood out with its inventive cocktails and carefully curated wine list, offering something for every palate.
The food was a delightful blend of classic American flavors with a contemporary twist. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing fresh ingredients and a creative approach to familiar favorites. The presentation was as impressive as the taste, reflecting a true dedication to quality.
What really set Joon Bar apart was the service—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, which made the entire experience feel personal and special.
