It all starts with a great first impression of how we remember places, and that's the positive vibes we received from the friendly baristas working behind the counter here. The 70's mellow music they had on in the background was very fitting for the energy, too. Gotta love those oldies but goodies. They played the classics at the perfect amount of volume so we could quietly chat while sipping our smooth Americano coffees. If you're lucky like we were and want to save some money, they have 'yesterday's freshes' for only $2.25. We were told that every day, these options change, and there's no guarantee that there will be 'freshes' from the day before. Okay, so in case you have no idea what 'freshes' mean'. These are their version of (day olds). But you wouldn't know it otherwise as the almond croissants we ate were so soft and tasted, fresh. Hence, the creative name. ;) This folks is the kind of café experience that will keep you wanting to come back for years again and again. We are very much already looking forward to re-visiting in the...
Read moreMixed review. The lattes and baked goods I tried are excellent. The server who took my order in my 2nd visit, not so excellent. The first visit earlier was great. On the 2nd visit the guy ignored my milk preference (till I caught him) and ignored my request for sweetener . Then they made the drink with 2" of space left unfilled. Weird? Here is the strangest part, I ordered a blueberry scone and he charged me for it, but never gave it to me. He claimed I already received it but I didn't. He was wrong. You know what he said? He said "I don't know what to tell you". I asked for a manager to get the situation resolved. This is really a shame because the lattes were the best I had in town. And really it is a nice shop in general too, with a nice front porch. Adding this to last week's review: i went in a third time on the next day and had excellent service and...
Read moreI stopped in at Joe’s for a cold brew and a sweet treat. Ended up getting the blueberry lemon scone. First, the gents behind the counter were delightful, charming and playful. The coffee (cold brew, as I said), well, popped open from a can and poured into my cup (not home brewed). Scone was yummy, but guessing if the cold brew isn’t house made, neither is the scone. I sat outside and watched the goings on while drinking and eating up, on a nice fall day. Overall, ok. Disappointed in the canned coffee, but otherwise would go back.
IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS COMMENT, I THOUGHT I WAS PRETTY CLEAR THAT THE COLD BREW IS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, AS I MENTIONED COLD BREW SEVERAL TIMES. SO TO BE CLEAR, THE COLD BREW IS NOT HOUSE MADE. IT IS FROM A CAN. I DID NOT HAVE HOT COFFEE. I HAD COOOOOOOLD...
