My husband and I stayed here for 5 days, during a personal business trip, and I must say that in all of my 33+ years of traveling as an adult, this was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
The staff members - Dressa, one of the Front Desk staff members who checked us in upon arrival, was absolutely delightful during our entire stay. One evening my husband and I had to use the Business Center printer, and she came over to make sure we weren’t in need of paper and had everything we needed. This was true customer service that went above and beyond because Dressa came to us without being asked to do so.
Another staffer - Crystal, was also delightful, greeting us with a smile and cheery good morning every time we arrived for the complimentary breakfast - which was everyday of our stay! While eating breakfast,I also observed how friendly she engaged with other guests who felt so comfortable chatting with her as they entered or exited the lobby. It was actually a pleasure to watch!
Speaking of the complimentary breakfast, it was filled with a nice variety of tasty options: breakfast sandwiches, eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, waffles, muffins, English Muffins, yogurt (I could go on) - and also vegetarian items like a Swiss cheese and spinach quiche.
The breakfast Attendant on duty everyday of our stay, was the A-MAZING Tanya. She ensured that the breakfast area and items were always full, hot items remained hot, AND that everyone had what they needed.
What also made Tanya stand out, was that she didn’t hold back compliments, which most often just made my day! By the end of our stay, she made my husband and I feel like Marriott family members (if there was such a thing!😊), which actually says a LOT about how we were treated and felt during our entire stay.
To top off all of this goodness, we had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Charles Eman, who came over to our breakfast table, to see how we were enjoying our stay, not just once, but twice!!
Needless to say we had a great conversation with Charles. Similar to his staff members, he was VERY kindhearted and welcoming. He genuinely wanted to know all about our stay, and informed us that if we needed anything, to be sure to let him know.
Should we have a need in the future to return to the South Bay Area of Southern California, this will certainly be our first choice. In addition to everything I’ve already mentioned, I must say that the location is also perfect because you’re in good proximity of several eateries and modern conveniences in Hawthorne, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and El Segundo.
Our 1-bedroom suite was also nice and clean, and provided exactly what we needed for this stay.

They have no transparency when it comes to authorization holds and make errors in billing. The calls are screened when you ask for a manager. He evades questions and refuses to give his name without persistence. When management doesn't know how to correct the billing issue, they refuse to transfer you to accounting for correction. Not only do I work in administration and billng for a living, I stay at Marriotts 1/3 of the year. I KNOW this issue could've been resolved. I brought it to their attention they had no regard, remorse, nor accountability. They do not care if you call corporate. They will leave you on hold and hang up.
My room was charged for $1100 and they held $900. It was not made clear to me that the incidental hold was $100 per night upon checking in nor that they don't release your hold, they just let it sit for 14 business days until it falls off. I stayed for 5 nights so no more than $500 over my room, tax, and fees should've been held. I had a reservation for 3 nights then 1 and 1. The original $900 was being held for the 3 nights. I asked why $900 was being held if my was room was $500 (aprx). That's when I was told incidentals are $100 per night. I didn't have a financial problem with that amount, although I wouldn't have originally selected this location had I known. I expect that from more premium locations. I continued my stay because the room was clean, staff WAS friendly. Oh how I wish I would've just stayed at my regular location where they always have excellent customer service and actually release your hold when checking out! I had a reservation simutaniously there as well and the hold was dropped 2 days after checkout as it had been with all other Marriotts that I've stayed. The only hotel I've ever had a similar issue with was the RI in either Lancaster or Torrance back in 2020. It took a few days to resolve, which was fine because management was kind and voluntarily forwarded me to accounting to promptly resolve the issue.
This hotel location is intentionally negligent about resolving billing issues. That's unacceptable and unprofessional. I much rather would've paid $2000 to be at a higher end hotel and treated well, than to just have excess money held without authorization. No matter how they try to twist, whether my room totals were combined or separate, no more than $500 plus the cost of the room should've been held in total for the 5 night stay. They're wrongfully holding $400 extra and refuse to do...
Read moreStayed there on July 3rd- 4th just one night coming out of town for funeral. I only stayed here because we had a function day after funeral at rendondo beach other wise I would of continued staying at that other property Courtyard in Long Beach airport which I may say that property was very nice and accommodating and understood the matter . Show that they care Anyways I called 2 times to this residence inn Confirming my 2 rooms that’ was booked under my name under family discount but I too am a current Marriott employee which I could not get into my system at the time so I was under my neice employee discount . The 2 reps confirmed my 2 rooms and inform me of the parking fee and deposit for the night which I’m very aware of . Also I mention I was gonna be late check in which I did come in after 1030pm, when I check in it was the assistant general manager his name was Gerald I believe, than he inform me that I was o my able to use one room under family & friend discount . I said I just got back from anther property and being an employee myself I know for a fact we are entitled to 2 rooms . Well he would not honor the 2nd room , I asked him to please allow this we are tired and here for only 1 night and due to the unfortunate circumstances. Oh no he wanted to power trip knowing he could have override this and just let it go thru . He said no he can’t not that he can sell the 2nd room to me for regular price at $185 plus tax Oh that point I was furious, I called over to my neice to add her sister on so we can get g s discount . It took me 25 min to get the form my neice but we got the 2nd form under her name just so he can not give us issues. When we went back he see that both forms was validated and than kind of back pedal trying to be all nice . He came off cold and not showing any empathy towards our matter but felt like he wanted to power trip and upsell a room He just told us breakfast hours and didn’t give us directions . Not a very good assist general manager. I wished I never check out from the last property In Long Beach we were staying prior to that . He needs to be more of a people person rather that a Coporate person 😒🙄🤦♀️, he could of made that executive decision it instead his wanted to abuse his authority 🙄, the room was nice the breakfast was meh but the guest service front desk experience was cold and not great . DO BETTER! With so much going on with America people that work for hotel be more understanding and show...
