Best PAKISTANI food I have ever ate in the USA hands down. Let me be clear, this is a Pakistani restaurant that has vegetarian options for the faint of heart, literally.
I suggest the Chicken Biryani for all newbies or simply as a starting dish, but definitely the Beef Nihari to get your mouth going. Make sure to get the buttery Garlic Naan to sop up all the curry, because that's where the real spices of Nihari are at. As a side, get the Beef Seikh Kabob to really get that char-grilled Tandoor flavor. I would say that among the Kabobs the really adventurous would be uber satisfied with the Beef Boti Kabob which is more of tenderly marinated and spiced beef chunks than its ground beef cousin, Beef Seikh Kabob. Now for dessert I suggest the Ras Malai or Kheer, 2 of the most satisfying desserts fit for royalty. End the meal with a soul-quenching cup of Dood-Patti Chai (not the same as Masala Chai), one of the ultimate 'hits-the-spot' milk teas that you will be dreaming about.
Disclaimer Since most Pakistanis could go without vegetables or even being vegetarians at that, try to explore the meat/rice dishes before the vegetarian dishes. Trust me, you'll thank me later. For most of you that do not know, Pakistani cuisine is MUCH different from its cross-border neighbor. Pakistani cuisine is heavy on the meats, especially red meat like lamb, goat and beef. Additionally the spices that Pakistani cuisine utilizes are a lot different than the spices Indian vegetarian-themed restaurants use for their cuisine. Some of these Indian restaurants even (gasp!) use the vegetarian spices for the meat dishes that they do serve. The cooking techniques along with the overall meat quality and texture are in my opinion place Pakistani cuisine on an untouchable level with...
Read moreI used to go this restaurant with my husband. So couple of week ago I ordered the chicken biriyani to go since I am working so I don’t have time to check or wait. When I went to my work and eat the lunch I saw they put very small amount of rice. So I don’t mind at all. Next time I ordered and I said to them put more rice. When I open the box I just saw one small piece of chicken and a lot of rice. They messed up again. I didn’t tell them less chicken or more rice . The lady quickly fix the problem and asked me to come back for another plate so I said later on night time. When I go pick up my order at night the guy said I have to wait 35 mins which they already know I will be here . So I waited and almost 45 mins still not ready . Really one biriyani they asked me to wait 45 mins ? Can’t tbey just put on the to go tray and give me ? It’s just take a min to do . Sorry I will never go back this restaurant again. Food is cold and not fresh . Last night left over they didn’t throw away . In the morning they reheated and give it to me. I feel so bad they wat they treated me today . I pay money and I have to wait like a beggar. I am not happy with this. Never going back to this...
Read moreI usually get the Chicken Tikka Masala, sorry if it is misspelled, and it is heaven with Naan Bread. I don't normally like a lot of meat, as just a personal preference, and eat up all the sauce before having a second piece of meat. So, todays choice for me was Garbanzo beans with a red sauce of medium spice....let me tell you...it was bomb diggity! (80'S BABY) Came out piping hot, as I like it, and soooo much blended flavours, not knowing yet what makes this savory dish. Pleased I am. So very much! This will be my regular order from now on! The green sauce that came with it, on the side, was so flavourful; a citrus and cilantro cream sauce, the onions, cucumber and lime made a little light side salad. I could literally eat this everyday. Luckily for me this is about two servings. THANKYOU for being here Al-Noor, and delivering an experience and moment I'll never forget. *Friendly service
P.s. For those with heartburn I suggest getting it with no...
