The good things are plentiful. They were very responsive to any issue we had. They messaged me on the second day to see how things were, and I advised them of 2 things. 1 the room was very dark. The room had entry hall lights, one lamp on the wall and two reading lights. The room was very dim in the evenings. They could do nothing about that. The second issue, luckily I asked, was that one of the blinds in the room did not work. There are 2 blinds on the window that open/close with a button. So they took it out to "charge" it. It was gone from day 2 to 3, so we only had fully open or fully dark window (and a dim room, remember the lights). The blind was returned late on our last night there. Too bad they dont have extras to swap out while they charge them for a full day. I liked the free parking, tho the lot is TIGHT and most people cant park between their lines, so good luck getting in the spots and out of your car. The hotel is new and the decor is attractive, the hallways are the brightest on earth and everything seemed pretty clean. I liked the deep drawers and the good size fridge. Towels are nice, seem very new. The indoor pool and outside deck on the third floor are a hit. There are bathrooms everywhere. Not so good things. The Hilton app did not work well for me and the digital key was a BUST. There is very limited controls on your phone for this property, only television control. No lighting or climate controls. The app also really should show hours of operation for hotel features such as the pool or restaurant. We were put in a HC room because that seems to be the last room available. It is nice to have the extra space but looking at pics of other rooms, you lose some amenities. There seemed to be less counter space, design touches, maybe some shelves, no second sink, a smaller couch that only sleeps one and a smaller counter in the bath. The shower had low pressure and the shower head was too low for me. As someone who used to have a HC child, another thing this room lacks is plugs. Should you need to plug in any equipment to use or charge, you are limited to just a few plugs. I think there were 4 outlets/8 plugs in the room. 2 are used by the microwave and coffee pot, 1 for the phone (which did not work, the red light was flashing... I dont know why) and 1 is used for the alarm clock. Leaving just 4 plugs, only two were anywhere close to the sofa bed. With the equipment we used to use, this would have been an issue, but, maybe not for everyone. There were no sheets/pillows/blankets in the room for the sofa bed. We arrived around 10pm and had to wait for some to be brought up before the kiddo could go to sleep. Housekeeping was a little lacklustre as well. They made the bed but not the sofa bed. They took the towels out of the bath on the second day but set them on the dresser and left them. They did not replace washcloths, we had none on our last morning. There was also a pile of towels outside our door on day 3. The last issue I had is with booking, so maybe not this location exactly, but still with Hilton overall. I booked the hotel for 2 nights (Fri & Sat) initially for about $320 a night. 4 days later we decided to add a night (Sun) but when I did, Hilton charged me more for the 2 nights I had already booked, an additional $75. I did not change anything about those days, and I had the same confirmation number. I just added a day. I contacted Hilton with my concern on 4/16, they promised a response in 3 days, it is now 4/22 and I still haven't heard from them. I think I would not return to this hotel in the future. We come to Rehoboth every year around spring break, before the season starts. We are used to paying around $150-$200 a night in the off season and getting quite a nice experience from other hotels. Charging nearly $350 a night in the off season (and $500-$600 in the summer) seems like a lot for what you get. There is nothing offered by this hotel that I can't get at Brighton Suites for a lot less (and they have...
Read moreThe only good thing I can say about my experience was the proximity to the boardwalk and local restaurants. I am a Diamond member. At check in, they were very friendly and helpful. When I arrived, I loved that they had assigned parking. However, they do not enforce the signed parking. I have 2 small children. The second day, we took the car out for the day to Jolly Roger’s, which was the highlight of my son’s trip. They both fell asleep on the way back to the hotel. Pull up to park, and someone is our spot. I’m I go inside to report it and they basically said, oh well. They asked if they had a pass in the windshield, they did not, and said they were sorry for our inconvenience and we could take any available spot. Which was a nice alternative, but I didn’t want to inconvenience another guest by taking their spot. Now let’s talk about the room. The room was ok. I’ve stayed in better. We were in room 412 - 2 Queen beds. My youngest slept in a pack and play., and my 4 year old slept with us mostly. The bed closest to the window basically held our suitcases and overnight bags. My son slept in that bed to fall asleep and then climbed in our bed in the middle of the night when he’d wake up scared. At one point we noticed a little dried blood on the blanket, which I thought was weird at first, but I do have two boys that can play rough. We checked out on 8/12. Since we now knew they don’t enforce the parking there, we left our car and walked around for a couple hours before heading back to Baltimore. When I arrived home, I took all of our bags and suitcases directly to my bedroom, put them on my bed and left for the Ravens/Eagles game. Came home really late that evening after the game, transferred my bags to the floor and went to bed. Over the next few days I started noticing bites on me. One or two the first night on my hand. A few the next morning, thought maybe my dog had fleas, but we had just given her the frontline right before leaving for the beach… mosquitoes? But by day 4, I had bites all over my body, big red welts everywhere. On my arms, legs, hands, feet, stomach, neck, back… couldn’t understand what was happening. They weren’t there the night before, but in the morning, there they were. I thought maybe spiders? Never did I think bed bugs. Finally one night, someone suggested the idea of bed bugs. I stripped my bed and search… I saw nothing. Then, about a week later I see the tiniest little black dot on my blanket and I watched it move. 4 am, we’re carrying our mattress, box spring, everything out to the separated garage. I immediately overnight sprays and begin treating our room. I washed everything. We thought we fixed the problem after a week of no bites. Fast forward a week and the bites are happening again. At this point, I’m furious. I finally called the hotel when I did the math and realized what was happening and where it came from. Why I hadn’t called the hotel prior this point, maybe I was in denial that, ewwww… I had bed bugs. Disgusting. I spoke with the manager at the hotel. She said they take this kind of thing very seriously and will have pest control come out and inspect our room. I sent her pictures showing the bites, one of a tiny bug that looks like a speck of dirt. I can’t be the only guest that stayed in that room and is experiencing this problem. It’s not possible. We did not have this problem on 8/8/2023. We checked into that hotel on 8/9 and checked out on 8/12. I started documenting my bites on 8/14. Cannot be a coincidence. Where are we at now… I was quoted up to $4800 to exterminate my house. I’ve thrown away, easy, $3,000 worth of my belongings. Paid $1300 to exterminate and have heard nothing back from them. If I could give a zero, I’d give a zero. I still don’t have a bed until I know the problem is gone. Do they care, doesn’t seem like it. Will I ever stay there...
Read moreWe recently completed a quick beach trip and being as the Coast was renovated and recently reopened under the Hilton brand, I immediately knew I wanted to check it out to compare to other under the Tapestry umbrella. The hotel is located just 2 blocks from the boardwalk right on Rehoboth Ave so you'll have plenty of shopping and food options available in any direction and beach and ocean access is a quick walk.
First impressions, you can tell this was a total revamp of the property. This hotel looked great as soon as I pulled up and the inside was more of the same. After checking in, I went up to the room to give it a look. We stayed in a 2x queen room on the 4th floor - the room offered ample light in the single large window and a nice view of the ocean; lower floors would have an obstructed view.
Upon inspection the room was very clean, organized and stocked with toiletries & towels - the hotel also offers shower gel, shampoo & conditioner but it is in large format shared bottles which is a turn off for some so plan to bring your own if that’s a problem. The room does have a safe, refrigerator and extra blankets if you get cold which was nice to see.
The bar and restaurant area were very nice and is right off the main lobby. I utilized only the bar area for drinks on several occasions so I cannot comment on the food offerings. In regard to drinks, they offer a well-stocked bar, a decent house cocktail selection with some drinks that offer a bit of flair but you can also order any other type of cocktail, wine or beer option if those don't strike your fancy.
Aside from the hotel itself, the staff was all very friendly during our stay. Everyone we interacted with did everything they could to make us feel welcome and ensure we were enjoying our stay including filling an early parking request and access to the pool area before our room was available. While not to be always expected, it was nice they were able to accommodate. We also received a few digital communications soliciting feedback during the stay that received prompt response from the main desk.
A few noteworthy items; If you are a digital key user once thing you should note is that at this property you don't need to be right up against the scanner to activate, if you are in the vicinity that is good enough which is great because the elevator requires you to use your key to gain floor access and also to access the pool/patio area. Pretty standard in hotels today but a nice departure from the scanners that require you be right up against the card reader to (possibly) work.
Parking is limited and assigned by room so if you haven't checked in yet then you will not be able to park in the hotel lot. The garage is also very tight so if you drive a large or oversized SUV it might be inconvenient. On that note, there are a few 15 min spots next to the hotel on 2nd Ave if you are trying to quickly check-in and get an assigned spot.
The pool patio area is nice and offers a good ocean view but the pool itself was fairly small and could easily become overcrowded during peak times. I also noticed that pool towels were in short supply. I think a combination of the hotel still working out the kinks and guests taking 3-4 for each person to use to prop up heads etc. Not a huge issue but might be worth taking your beach towel just in case. The tile around the pool is particularly slippery when wet, be careful, especially if you are there with young ones. The pool has a shower so you can quickly rinse off after a dip if desired.
If you are a HH Diamond member this is a small boutique hotel that just recently opened and seemed quite busy. There is no executive lounge on the property and it’s likely that time of check-in upgrade options will likely be limited. Having said that, I wouldn't let that deter you from...
