I will choose great customer service over a 5* luxury hotel any day. Especially here. When calling around for ability in this area, we were "greeted" by rude people working front desk. I've personally have worked as a front desk concierge and it's truly not that hard to say "No, sorry. We have no availability". Days Inn was our 3rd try and we were bracing ourselves for another "No" and being hung up on. We were greeted instead, with the kindest voice who let us know there was ability and that we didn't need to book it over the phone as we were only 11 miles away. Tom was a kind in person as he was over the phone. We asked for a late check out and due to driving for so long, we accidentally overslept. Not the best way to start our day. The shower took longer than expected due to not only faulty water pressure, but water coming out in general. We're hoping it's just in that particular room so I don't need to battle with a calcified showerhead that only produced a small stream of water. The bedroom was small, but clean. While my husband was packing all our stuff up, I decided I'd try to make up for our tardy check out by stripping the bed, taking our trash out and restocking the shampoo/conditioner/TP/cups and plastic bag for the ice box and soap as the cart was in the hallway. I wasn't even thinking about the cameras and it dawned on me that I probably looked like a crazy person walking back and forth from the room to the cart. Lol. I went down to the front desk and was greeted by another wonderful soul, Pete. He brought up how we were past the late check out, and I apologized and explained how I tried to make up for it by prepping our room for housekeeping. He smiled and said "You didn't have to do that". Pete? When you read this, know we're very aware you could have easily charged us for a second day. Your kindness truly was more of a perk we needed to continue on our road trip. More so than the wonderful coffee you provided. You're better than your favorite Almond Joy creamer and there's nothing artificial about your sweetness. :D Tom, because of you we will be planning on staying at this hotel again on our way back home. You have a great voice for customer service... Let's be honest, you have a great voice in general. I'll try to bring your favorite flavor of beef jerky (teriyaki) on our way back through. The difference between ordinary people and extraordinary, is just that little "extra" both of...
Read moreI stayed at this sleazebag hotel on November 6, 2017 it is by far the sleaziest hotel I have ever stayed at in my 60 years I was staying through Wyndham Rewards program as a recommendation and have also wrote to Wyndham Properties. this Hotel is NOT in anyway shape or form handicap friendly or accessible it is a 2 story hotel an extremely long with steps in the hallway, so if you are in a wheel chair your screwed, there are NO ramps, no handicap accessible entry doors anywhere at this property. whenever I book a room no matter where I travel I always tell them that I am on oxygen therapy and always request a room near an elevator or entry, well no elevator here sooo they book me on 2nd floor all the way to the back of the hotel by the back stairs because we booked a smoking room for my Lady. I asked if there was anyone that could assist me with my luggage up those stairs and the Lady just laughed and said no! So I drove all the way to the back again a very long hotel to the back stairs, It took me a little over 2 hours to bring up mt 1 large and heavy suite cases that have my other equipment for the night. Once in the room the room was very ol and run down, the smallest bathroom I have ever seen except for ina RV. The security flip lok on the door was broken so it was useless like someone had broken into the room before. In the middle of the night I killed a cockroach by the TV! So in the morning I went through everything in both suite cases to make sure I didn't have any in them. I did not use the vending machines because more steps, I did not have their breakfast because of all the stairs and to be honest I just really didn't trust them! I had asked the Lady at check in if the entrance door way in back was a security door where we use our hotel key, she said she didn't know because know because she never had went all the way back there! I guess that should of been a warning sign? My recommendation is sleep in your car o\it'll be a much better stay. There are alot of choices of hotels right in the area of Rockford run as fast as you can to one of those and I'm sure they will be handicap friendly and be willing to assist their guest. Wyndham Properties should be embarrassed to have this hotel under...
Read moreWow! Alright, so you're going to respond with "we definitely don't have a bedbug infestation" when I've read through the reviews and I'm not the only one who complained! I could have said more but I was trying to be nice and make you aware of the issue and they do spread easily. They might not be bad right now in other rooms but there will definitely be more where that came from. And clean that puke looking stain on the carpet. There was a nasty old French fry sitting in the sink and I would not take a bath in that bathtub.the ONLY good thing I have to say about days inn is the beds are comfortable (minus bedbugs) and pillows were nice. But people if you're thinking of getting a hotel I would NOT recommend days inn. We went to motel 6 and had a much better experience. No bugs, cleaner rooms, nice big tv, microwave, refrigerater...It was just way nicer there. I wasn't bitten once. Safe to say there are cheap places that are decent in Rockford. just read the reviews. If I could've given days inn 0 stars I would've. This is a terrible place and we will never stay here again.
Me and my significant other booked a smoking room, I believe it was room 234 or 235? Can't remember exactly. Anyway, it wasn't the cleanest room, and our blanket had a burn hole in it. There was no microwave or refrigerater, these things weren't such a big deal to me. The BED BUGS, however, were a big deal, and ate us up in the night. I pray to God i didn't bring any home with me....days inn, you may need to have the whole hotel treated. We got bit up alot, which leads me to believe there is an infestation....and treating one room won't get rid of...
