Extended Stay America Select Suites - Rockford - State Street — Hotel in Rockford Township

This was the best stay I ever had during my travels. It was actually an accident that came out beautiful. The staff is excellent, like family they are warm and welcoming, Mr. D, Uncle Steve , Tee Tee Judy. Sorry I didn't have the chance to meet the 3 shifter..like myself however I'm sure it's in the water at this location, they are all excellent in service, personality plus more good genuine people. I was so upset when my contract ended abruptly. :( Howerer The best gyros ever...Uncle Nick's plug) I didn't know I wasn't coming back, that day I loaded up on gyros-dropped them off some as well.

Great area, I picked up some specialty shoes my feet needed ( they don't hurt anymore!!!! Plug to Katie at The Foot Lodge, Inc Loves Park IL) The rooms are spacious, clean, the bedding, pillows and sheets sets are the softest I ever experienced at an Extended Stay.  This place is top notch I highly recommend it!!  You may pay a couple dollars more however for the comfort, atmosphere, the staff, its worth it!!! We decided to stay here a night based on reviews and a reasonable price. We checked in around 9pm and wanted to shower and get a good night sleep after spending time with our son and his family for the day. The rooms seemed a bit dated but overall they were clean and maintained. |The biggest issue was when we decided to go to bed. The bed was so uncomfortable that my back and body as well as my wife’s is still stiff and sore. We were 1/2 tempted to go back out to the van and sleep because when I wanted to switch rooms thinking it was possibly our room that was the issue. Well there is nobody available after 10 PM until 10am the next morning. |My wife ended up sleeping on the 2 seater sofa with a chair supporting her legs and myself I stripped the bed down and slept on the floor with the sheets wrapped around me. Wasn’t the best situation but it made my back feel better. If you are thinking about staying here spend a little extra and stay at the holiday inn. Also they advertise on trip advisor that they offer a free grab and go breakfast. Haha wrong. Do yourself a favor and...

I don’t even know how this is a hotel. There was no amenities in the room whatsoever. There was no shampoo, conditioner or anything in the bathroom besides one bar of soap. There was no coffee maker in the room. When I went to find the free coffee and breakfast in the lobby, it didn’t exist. I had to drive to Starbucks. There is no one even working in the morning and it’s shuttered up. Then there was a dog barking forever at 3:00 in the morning. Tried to call the hotel number but it said front desk was closed. I wasn’t leaving my room at 3:00 in the morning to go to the lobby phone. I don’t understand how people can just let their dogs bark uncontrollably. There is no way that anybody would want to have an extended stay here. The kitchen is basically nonexistent. There is nothing in it. You have to bring all of your own things or buy them. That defeats the purpose of staying in a place like this. I guess I have learned my lesson and will splurge a little bit more on a better place considering I had to pay $10 for breakfast.
