We stayed at this hotel for a total of two weeks. ||Good points:||Location: It is situated close to several grocery stores, a nice equestrian neighborhood, and a main artery that makes accessing attractions convenient.||Front office staff: Helpful, friendly, and efficient. ||Their deluxe suites have balconies that overlook a large pond. There are birds to see especially in the early morning and at dusk. ||Their suites have windows and doors that open so you can get good airflow. ||Their suites are well appointed with a full- size fridge, a microwave, and some dishes. Bathrooms have a tub and shower combo. Beds are comfortable.||A coin laundry is on site, which is very convenient for longer stays.||There is ample parking so parking close to the room is easy. ||The ground seemed safe, and the hotel has after- hours security staff. ||Prices for the suites are reasonable for what they offer. Wellington during the high season is extremely expensive, and this place is a good value overall.||Things that could use improvement:||We initially stayed in a regular room. There is no other way than to say the room stank terribly of something, and, on top of it, it was not cleaned well. Our socks became dirty just walking around in it! It may not have been typical for all their standard rooms, but that room was simply unacceptable at any price. We are glad we gave the suites a try, but I would recommend checking any room before committing to it. ||The furniture in the rooms is rather dated. Curtains are tired. The suite balconies could use some cleaning around their rails and corners.||The sound proofing is not the best. For most of our stay, the other guests were considerate, and it was quiet. A couple of nights some people partied in the parking lot, and it was very loud. Security came, but it took a while for the noise to abate.|||So, overall, based on my experience, I would recommend the hotel’s suites but not their regular rooms. If you are looking for a budget- friendly, serviceable hotel, this will likely do nicely for you. If you are looking for even a hint of luxury, I recommend staying else...
Read moreCurrently stayed for one night, everything was going good tell around 11:00am. Me and my boyfriend realized that the door to the room we were in was opening from the outside even when you try to lock it from the inside it still would open. So me and my boyfriend made the decision to leave because it was already late we didn’t see anyone in the front office and safety comes first, but as we were leaving we see the security guard we tell him about the situation and immediately goes and checks to see if he can fix the door well that didn’t work he couldn’t fix it. So he goes and checks to see if their is any other rooms that would be open near us and cleaned, well as we where looking in the windows to see witch rooms are clean we find one that is not that bad but still not cleaned by the cleaning lady. As the security guard is walking away we notice that the green light on the door was still on so that means the door is unlocked, he sees me messing with the door before he pulls away and said is it okay, i said I don’t think this light is going off so it won’t lock, so he comes back try’s to get the light off so the door will lock he couldn’t get it off he said it could be the battery’s, so we move to another room that was still not clean by the cleaning lady but was not that bad to where we could not sleep in it.We also had to bring our sheets and pillows from our original room so we did not use anyone else’s sheets. Be mindful that this all was going on between 11:00am - 1:00am in the morning I was tired and annoyed about the situation. Had to switch rooms twice and they weren’t clean! So disappointed from this stay because usually it is all fine...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!! I booked a room here for my sister and her husband. This used to be a great hotel, but no longer. The place was super sketchy. My sister and her husband said after they got checked in and went to their room, the room they went to looked like it was already occupied, because it was. Then they went back to the office to get a new room. After 20 minutes of waiting for someone to come down, they finally got a new room. It was not nice, dirty, smelly, but they ended up staying two of the three nights they were meant to be there. They checked out the third morning, instead of staying that night because the room was pretty awful and they did not feel safe.
When I got my statement, I saw that I was charged for the original price of the room, I was refunded one night that they ended up not staying, and then they charged me also the modified price also. So in the end I was charged around $700 for a crappy room that they stayed in for two nights. When I tried to call the business, on multiple occasions to figure out what happened, they never answered their phone and never returned my call when I left a voicemail. I opened a dispute with my credit card company, but they were unable to refund my money because I did not have the receipts. The hotel also lied to my credit card company for the extra charge and they refused to refund it, how do I know, I still have not had that money...
