Changing my formerly 5-star review to 1-star due to my experience today. I'm a 20+ year business member. While the store is fine, as well as most of the employees, their customer service clerk was extremely rude to me. As I used to do until tonight, I'd allow the cashier to swipe my credit card prior to ringing my items which automatically checks you out at the end. Never again! While they do this for speed checkout measurements, it's a HUGE inconvenience for members. A produce item that is normally a few dollars was priced in double digits. I didn't notice when I picked it up because I buy this item 2+ times per month. As the cashier rung it up, I said wait, how much was that, as my credit card was charged. Please take that off my bill. She said I can't because it already went through, you have to go to customer service. This must be an attorney general issue which I will check out. They should not okay the checkout without giving you a right to dispute a price. Publix can do it. So can Walmart and Target. So off to customer service I go with a basket of frozen food and dairy items, plus my produce on a very hot evening in South Florida. A female clerk tells me I must go outside to have my receipt checked and then come back in. I just came from your friggin register. Do you really think I stole the produce with the receipt in my hand? Go ahead Costco, treat your members like criminals. So I do as I'm told. I go out and come back in. The return person is busy with someone else looking up receipts. After about 5 minutes standing there with 3, yes 3 clerk's standing there gossiping with each other, the rude female clerk refuses to make eye contact with me as I place my produce and receipt on the counter. She's too busy yakking with the other clerks and filling up the coupon display to remember she sent me on an adventure out of the store and back in. Another few minutes, I ask are you going to help me????? I have a basket of frozen items that are melting. So she grudgingly took my return. I told her what happened at the register. She wasn't listening. I asked if she heard me. She said, I heard you in a snippy voice. I'm sorry I inconvenienced her soooo much. Too close to timeclock punch out time I suppose. She'd be better working at the Walmart supercenter. Her lousy attitude would fit right in. Not what I expect as a paying, long time business member of Costco....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis happened at around 5 pm today at the Costco royal palm beach. I went to the meat department looking for prime ribeye roast (the whole piece). I did not see prime only the choice. A woman finally came to the window and I said " Excuse me , do you have any prime ribeye roast"? She replied " Yeah over there" and she pointed to the choice ribeye. I said" No that is choice , I need the prime ribeye." She then looked at me and chuckled while saying " you do realize that is 19.99 a lb for the prime?" So I realize that I am being insulted, my facial expression changed and I replied" DO you have it?" Then she says " Oh yeah it's right here in prime." She then finally brings me some prime to look over. I put it in my cart and left with my daughter. I felt very bothered upon leaving but did not want to cause a scene so I tried keep my cool and knew I had to write a review of what happened . This was one of those situations that should not happen. I didn't ask her about the price of anything but she chose to smugly offer the price letting me know I can't afford it. I am very disappointed in what has happened here today. No one should be judged when purchasing anything from anywhere. This employee needs to be trained on customer service techniques. Today I was insulted while trying to spend money. I hope this does not happen to anyone else because it is not a good feeling to have someone try to judge what you can afford. I shop here often and no one has ever treated me in such a way. I am deeply disturbed by this event. I really don't think I can go back to Costco any time soon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Costco, so it pains me to have to leave this negative review regarding my experience with the tire center and subsequent management. After having the tires I purchased from them installed, I got home and thought I would take a look at them. The rims were covered in white goo, upon wiping the goo off, I noticed right away all 4 of my rims were damaged and scratched on very outer edge of each rim. I took the car back the next day and filed an incident report, which they said would be 2-3 days to review, after following up with them for SIX weeks - their handler, Tristen, called me back and said they just submitted it. I'm a 61 year old woman, and cannot help but think I was dismissed. Roger the tire center that took my report said that all of this damage was from hitting curbs - I responded that's impossible. He then told me "sometimes you don't even know you do" WHAT??? Their "Independent Risk Management Company" would review and get back to me. Flatly denied, even though I have 3 expert certified technicians all saying this damage was a result of the tire installation. The Independent Risk Management Company is actually a company hired by Costco as Costco is "self-insured" - clearly it is not in their interest to pay a claim. I followed up today after being ignored all week by Tristan, and when I spoke to him he was rude and hostile, and again very dismissive. I will continue to fight this with them, even though they told me there is nothing I can do. ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES BEFORE YOU HAVE TIRES INSTALLED THERE. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED - SHAME...
