Best Western River Cities — Hotel in Russell

Recently stayed at this "recently remodeled" location for an event. The gentleman at check in was very nice and the lobby was clean. Not long after arriving in our room, we discovered that the AC unit was not functioning properly. We booked this king room several months ago. After calling the front desk, we were told that there were no other king rooms available and that maintenance would not be available until the next day. We had to leave our stuff in the king room and sleep in a smaller room for the first night. Maintenance took care of the unit the following morning. We went back to our king room for the remainder of our stay. We could hear doors being slammed all around us for the 4 days and 3 nights we were there. We could also hear people walking around and stomping on the hallway above us. While housekeeping did leave us fresh towels in a bag outside of our room, they did not clean our room or remove trash for the duration of our stay. On the last day there, our thermostat stopped working. The lady that took care of breakfast was super sweet and they did have a nice breakfast layout. When we checked out, our total was higher than what was booked on the BW website. The lady at the desk at checkout said there was nothing she could do about it. I have reached out to the manager three times to rectify the situation, but nobody has bothered getting back with me. Doubt I will ever stay there again. Has the potential to be...

I chose the BW due to the location as there were not very many choices in this locale.|I flew and drove the better part of the morning and afternoon, so I was very tired. Check-in was smooth and Scott was very friendly and helpful. I removed my shoes in the room and unpacked my bag and after a long morning and afternoon, lay down on the bed in my white socks. I look down at my Socks and turned my foot in and couldn't believe that my white socks were black from the floor. I went to the front desk and Scott was very apologetic and said he would move me to the room next door so that I didn't have to go far...but gave me the key card and said to check it first....It was worse than the initial room. ( I took a towel from the bathroom and ran a wipe on the floor)...Housekeeping was gone for the day. I was tired and just wanted to rest. I requested a mop from the housekeeping room, a bucket and white vinegar. I cleaned my own room!!!! I did not require any housekeeping in my room for the duration of my stay. Also the drain was so clogged that I had to sanitize my feet and ankles after my shower If you're forced to stay here, I suggest that you bring your own cleaning supplies. I stayed 5 days and was insulted when I was offered $50.00 compensation for my inconvenience...

My husband and I stayed for one night in November and enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and personable, and the single king bed room was clean and in order. We saw no bugs of any kind, the bathroom was extremely clean and well supplied with amenities. We didn’t use the microwave or refrigerator, but they were clean and worked. The hotel was quiet and had no foul odors anywhere (halls, elevator, doorways). I worked out in the fitness room. Kind of small but clean. I liked that one wall was all mirrors, and that one end was a large exterior window. I wished there had been a small table or shelves to put water bottles or other items on, and also that there were disinfectant wipes to wipe down machines after they had been used. The breakfast was well stocked, clean, and had a nice variety of hot and cold items. A lot of room in the lobby to eat early on, but somewhat crowded as time progressed. Overall, a very nice experience. Nice staff, clean public areas and a quiet room. When we go to visit family again, we will definitely stay...
