Went to breakfast this morning around 9:30 not busy at all. Food was cold. The grits and oatmeal had a really big skim on both of them where they have been sitting and not stirred at all for quit some time and the grits were cold Biscuits were hard enough to knock you out if you threw it at someone Eggs were cold and then when they did cook some they cooked them on the steak grill and they tasted awful Bacon and sausage both were cold Gravy was lukewarm the French toast you couldn’t even cut it with a fork and a knife Now mind you it is 9:30am on a Tuesday morning and they already have out mashed potatoes gravy fried chicken tacos cornbread which I did eat the cornbread one it was hot and two the biscuits were hard and cold but anyway lots of lunch food out at that time if the morning and the way everything was cold for breakfast I fathom to think when 11:00am rolls around how hard and crusty all if the lunch food is gonna be from not being stirred it replaced Unacceptable period Our waitress was very accommodating and very nice and we did tip her good because this wasn’t her fault at all and she spoke with the manager and gave us two free meal cards to use at another time Very much appreciated that they done that and we will give them one more chance I have worked in restaurants all my life and you only have a time span of allowed time till the product gets hard and is not fresh and you have to throw it away and put out fresh stuff That was not happening this morning at all from them Apparantly they had to change out all of the plates too for some reason when I got back from the restroom they were pulling dishes and headed to the back with them Just super disappointed that restaurants will have the shame of not keeping fresh ingredients put out for customers If it was you eating it you would want fresh stuff and quality food product. Shame on you Golden Corral for bringing breakfast bar back and not making sure your employees always keep out fresh ingredients to...
Read moreThere is no excuse for what happened to me today. My wife and I were sitting at a table eating. Beside us was a family, 5 or 6 people. I happened to look over, and the table was empty, but there was a purse sitting in one of the chairs. Immediately, I flagged a server over to let her know that a lady had left her purse. Golden Corral, where no good deed goes unpunished. The woman snapped at me in such a tone that other customers looked around to see what was going on. "No, they didn't their jacket is still on the back of the chair (I hadn't noticed the jacket). And if there's a problem, their server will handle it!" I can honestly say I wouldn't have let a man get away with using that tone with me. There is no excuse for such an outburst. I am 61 years old, but no one of any age deserves to be talked to in such a way. I'm not writing this to get a refund. I don't want an apology, nor a free meal, nor do I want a coupon to feed my whole family. I'm not looking for anyone's head on a platter. I am writing this so Golden Corral will know I will never eat there again. You don't have enough money to get me back in your restaurant. So if you don't mind overpriced, mediocre food and at least one server that will talk to you like a dog, I recommend Golden Corral. But the truth is there are plenty of restaurants in Asland with better, cheaper food and people who will treat you like a...
Read moreThis was my first time back at a Golden Corral in about five years. The one in Huntington closed so the nearest ones are here and Cross Lanes, Wv. This one really kept up to date with designs and decor. On entry you get your own cup and drink, the waiter at the table still does the refills. There are four seperate stations for food, one dessert, one salad bar and two regular food bars. There's multiple stations for the plates and they were clean. All the food containment was clean especially for a buffet. Everything on each of my bar visits it was full and the kitchen staff you could tell they were busy and enjoying themselves. All the food I got turned out great, I went for lunch but wish I went for the dinner but it was still worth it. My downs were lack of options, for instance there was multiple spots for one food. Next time Im in the Ashland area I'll definetly be back and...
