‼️‼️WARNING!‼️‼️If you plan on looking/buying a puppy from Petland Ashland don’t get jipped like I did! We bought our lab Milo from them about a year ago and he has been a great addition so when Petland called me yesterday saying they had a 4 month old lab for 400 who needed a home, we decided to make a reservation to meet her. I had to work a little today so I told them that we would be in Sunday. Yes I understand Petland can not put puppies on hold but I told them to just call me if she was sold before then. They called me again at 11:44 today to see if I was still interested. Which we were and I told them the same thing, to just call me if she was sold before we could get there. Then they sent me a confirmation for our reservation at 3:14pm today. Which I ended up getting off early so we decided to just go ahead and try and get her today so I called Petland at 3:30 to confirm that the puppy was still there, in which they said she was. So imagine our surprise when we showed up and find out that the puppy had already been sold earlier this morning🙄. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off. Not at the fact that they sold the puppy but the fact that they had lied to me about the puppy being available. I had been in contact with them on multiple occasions and was told she was still available every time. What makes it better is that when I spoke to the so called manager she didn’t not care at all. She basically told me there was plenty of other puppy’s to choice from. Like Petland called us about the puppy. We didn’t go looking. We told them on multiple occasions that we were only interested in the lab since we already have a lab. If they would have just been honest about it there would be no problem but to lie and deceive people just to make a sale...
Read moreBuyer Beware! If you buy a puppy from them they require you to take the puppy within two weeks to “their vet” for a checkup. The vet is Colonial Veterinary Clinic in Flatwoods, KY! The first red flag was when the girl at the store told me they take all their animals there and “it’s really cheap prices.” The second red flag was when I took my puppy and instead of doing the exam in the exam room they took her in the back to do it. I have never been to a vet that doesn’t do the exam in the room with you and talk to you about your pet. (With the exception of major procedures.) The biggest red flag came when I told this vet I thought my puppy could be deaf. She told me there wasn’t really a way to know for sure because there was no hearing test for dogs. I knew this was a lie because I had already researched it so I took my puppy to my regular Vet today, who did a hearing test and confirmed she is partially deaf. My best guess it that Petland probably has some kind of deal with the vet to limit testing, or in my case flat out lie, so they don’t have to honor the warranty they rave so much about. Who knows what other illnesses they may “overlook” or “not have a test for” so be careful and please take your puppy elsewhere to get checked out. That vet was shady and the front office staff aren’t really that friendly either, in my opinion. I might also add that I asked the girl at petland about the puppy being deaf because that is common with Dalmatians. She assured me that she came from a great breeder that would have “bred” that out of their litters. LOL The genetic anomaly that causes Dalmatians to have spots is related to why so many have hearing issues so don’t believe that!! We don’t care that our girl can’t hear but they shouldn’t be...

I went to purchase a puppy and we did purchase a Lhasa Apso. And she was a wonderful puppy, but had aggression issues with my son (2) and no, he wasn’t being mean to her like most people assume. She snapped at him twice. The first time biting him in the eye, and leaving a mark. The second time he had his little hand on her and she bit him. I took the puppy to the vet and the vet said she would call petland and see what the options were. She recommended I take the puppy back because it was strange behavior, so we did.
This petland went above and beyond to return the puppy. They didn’t charge me the restock fee because of the aggression and the manager seemed to be so sweet and caring and I really loved the way we were treated there, during the purchase and also during the return. I was very upset about having to return the puppy as I really loved her but I do put my children first and took the advice of the vet.
The person who sold us the dog however, her demeanor was very rude, and selfish. She treated my husband like a criminal for returning the puppy. I’m not sure if this is because she lost a sale, or what.. but she was very rude. I don’t remember her name. Maybe Tabitha..
The owner was exceptional, and the manager was exceptional, I believe her name was Teresa, we can’t thank this petland enough for being so kind and considerate of the return.
I do want to warn buyers that the petland does charge an additional $149.99 fee for the microchip and also required a purchase of dog food, and puppy boost for their puppies. This is the only petland that does this. Most of them offer these things free in the...
