El Colonial — Restaurant in Russell

Arrived at 9:30 and wanted to sit at the bar to eat. Had to wait a few minutes till it was clean. Ordered a top shelf margarita from a friendly bartender. The margarita tasted great as did the second. Ordered the “pick two” and ordered a chile rellano and a beef enchilada. They came back to say that they had no more chile rellanos. I just told them to give me two beef enchiladas. The food and the drinks were good. What I got at the end of the meal was sticker shock: $11 for each margarita. This was definitely a wallet-draining experience. My advice is to go to Huntington and spend your money there. Not worth the price. I know I’ll get a response that your prices are similar to other Mexican restaurants but other Mexican restaurants that have $11 margaritas make it...

I came here at around dinner rush (around 5p, 1700)

Staff: Friendly and attentive, always moving around, giving the entire dining area an excellent experience.

Cleanliness: very clean, especially for dinner hour.

Food: delicious. Typical Mexican food you will get an most Mexican restaurants. (this food is very similar to casa grande in South point, Ohio.) chips and salsa are included in your meal... Queso is extra.

You take your bill up to the counter when you first walk in, after receiving it.

I love Mexican food and I love this place. Great job to the management and staff! Keep up the great work!

My sister and I always wipe the tables with clorox wipes or some similar item when we go out to eat. We have eaten in quite a few restaurants and perform this same procedure. Most all wipes will become dirty like the tables have not been cleaned in quite a while or I have wiped my shoes with it. But, the numerous times we have eaten at El Colonial, the wipe is as Clean as it comes out of the package. Their tables are cleaner than any other.
