I have membership with Hampton/Hilton, Choice, and Holiday Inn for over three years for work travel. I did not have membership with Marriott until NOW! I was driving from Dallas to eastern Indiana. My goal was to get to Memphis before pulling over for the night, but a huge rain storm rolled in, it was about 8pm and just too dark and dangerous to be driving. I was in unfamiliar territory when I saw the road signs for food and lodging. I pulled off the exit and stopped at the first hotel in sight. It was this Courtyard. The lobby was busy with others getting out of the weather looking for a room. I was certain my chances of getting a room were slim to none, and if I was lucky enough to get a room, a "Marriott" was going going to be too expensive for my employer's satisfaction. When it came my turn to get a room I was a little apprehensive. The Front Desk asked if I was a member, I said no. She said, "I give you the membership rate anyway". Her kindness was enough - I told her I did have my Government ID. She checked me into a room and for only $110 plus fees. I was AMAZED! When I opened the door to my room I couldn't believe how beautiful and cozy my room was. I called down at 9 to ask if the restaurant was still open. Front Desk told me they had just closed. I went down to the lobby to see what they could sell me from the Pantry. The same woman who checked me in brought me HER dinner and made me a great salad and didn't charge me a dime - She is also the General Manager. I went up to my room, enjoyed my late dinner and immediately signed up for membership! I am now going to put Marriott as my first choice when booking a room when I'm traveling for work and leisurely - These people and THIS hotel impressed my brains out! I will be telling my employer and co-workers about this experience and hopefully Marriott will get our personal and corporate/government business. We'll done, we'll done indeed - You were more than hospitable, you were kind and overly accommodating. For the money spent, this hotel has given me the...
Read moreI had high hopes for a pleasant stay. Looks nice from outside and in, at first glance. I am a disabled vet and my wife is handicapped as well, so it takes a bit of effort to get everything we need in a room for the night. I asked the clerk after I checked in if there were any luggage carts. He replied they were kept by the entrance (I knew that but didn't see any when I came in). I told him there were none there. He just shrugged and replied, "I guess they're all being used". The place looked fairly empty but I waited around quite a while and would slowly get a piece or two of luggage from the car up to the third floor. He asked me a couple times if I was still waiting on a cart but never made any effort to locate one that I noticed. Never did get one that evening. ||I asked if they had anything at all out in the morning for breakfast besides the made to order menu but they didn't, not even coffee, juice or a muffin. A couple eggs and sausage with a large coffee was nearly $20 each person. There was only one regular coffee packet in the room and when I asked the desk for another, he seemed put out and said, "well, I'll have to go get one from the back". OK, thanks.||I suppose if you are a business traveler and all your meals are reimbursed by a company this would be all right but a family would have to spend a great deal to eat breakfast here...which is included practically everywhere else.||The bed and pillows were comfortable and the a/c worked well...which got the place one star.||Now the reason it would have got zero marks from me....bugs and spiders. See the attached pictures. One picture is right at the entrance. I had a non refundable reservation so I was stuck with the spiders and not mentioning it to the wife. We would have had to sleep in the car. Which I would have if I could have got my money back.||There are a lot of far better choices to stay at Russellville. I would not give this place...
Read moreI stayed at this Courtyard Hotel during a cross-country move, and the location was very convenient—especially with plenty of parking space, which was perfect for my moving truck. Unfortunately, my experience was affected by the front desk staff. We arrived later than expected, around 11 PM, and the front doors were locked. I didn't initially see the button to request entry and knocked instead. I overheard the front desk staff make a sarcastic remark under her breath and, when she finally came to the door, she asked, "Was the button broken?" in a tone that felt unnecessarily condescending.
When I asked if there was a better place to park closer to the elevator, she responded with attitude, pointing across the lobby and saying, “Do you mean that elevator right there?”—again, not the kind of tone that makes you feel welcomed after a long day of travel.
To top things off, I later noticed a pet fee charged for my ESA (emotional support animal), which is not allowed. I was never informed of this fee during check-in, and it had been added in the middle of the night around 2 AM. I had to call after my stay to have it removed.
Overall, while the property itself was clean and convenient, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously, as a warm and respectful welcome makes all the difference—especially for...
