3/3/25 Looks like work booked us in the SAME hotel again! However... this time the bed was wonderful.
The room was perfect. Air-conditioning was great. Not noisy. Toliet flushed well (unlike last time).
I'm not sure what time housekeeping are supposed to start knocking on doors. I heared them down the hall starting at 7:30am. Knocked on mine while I was in the shower at 7:45am. I could hear their vacuum cleaner next door while in the shower. Isn't there a no noise thing in effect 10pm to 10am in hotels?
Prior review: I feel I cannot sugar coat this. The NUMBER ONE reason to stay in a hotel is somewhere to sleep. Well... I didn't do much of that. These beds... OMG... are like sleeping on the ground. After 12hrs of driving I was really looking forward to sleeping in a comfortable bed. I gotta say, it was more comfortable sleeping upright in the vehicle we are driving in! And no, that wasn't ideal. Imagine a firmly stretched chain link fence with a blanet on top. I expected more from a Hilton, and that's usually what I receive... more.
The room, besides the torture rack they call a bed was really nice. Definitely a lot of road noise, but that usually doesn't bother me as I would normally be asleep in a comfortable bed.
The shower was great. Good water pressure and temperature.
The toilet was another failing point. Like a typical local toliet in Mexico, incapable of a proper flush.
Temperature control in the room stayed consistent. However it sounded like something was rolling around inside of it like rusty ball-bearings or something on the fan motor.
Staff were super nice checking in.
I haven't eaten here yet. Since it's 3am, the restaurant isn't open yet. Seeing how I couldn't take laying in this bed anymore (I tried the second queen bed as well 👎) I figured I would clue in other weary travelers.
More to come after breakfast.
I propped up all the pillows on one bed and expected to go through email, but it felt quite comfortable that I finally fell asleep and I got around 2hrs of solid sleep, FINALLY.
Breakfast was pretty good. Filling. The server and the cook were super friendly. Only odd thing was that the restaurant had music going, the lobby had different music going and the tv volume in the restaurant was up. Holy...
Read moreOverall, this location was okay. I've stayed in worst places, but I've also experienced better.
My first impression was the place looked nice and clean and well-designed. The person helping me at the desk was pleasant, but the handwriting on my keycard took me to the wrong room,
I was a little bothered when I found out that the continental breakfast that was promoted was not included in your stay and that I would have to pay additional for it. The food at the cafe on-site is a little left to be desired and very expensive. I had the fish and chips. The chips were probably the better part. For $24.00, I got one piece of fish that was not good.
I didn't sleep well in the room I had. I'm not sure if it is because the sheets were so rough, scratchy and stiff like cardboard, the little square bed pillows intended for your head were flat and the pillowcase was doubled over to make it look like it was intended to be that size, or it was because this location is in the flight path and there were planes flying over landing or it could have been the fact that the building is Less than a 100 yd away from highway 5, and there was Loud trucks and cars all night long, coming through the window. Upon checkout, i made myself a cup of coffee that was available at the registration desk I saw the night before. They had a nice spread of fresh fruit at the coffee station. I figured that would be a good breakfast alternative to the non complimentary continental breakfast. But I was DECEIVED. When I opened one of the beautiful glass jars full of fruit that accompanied the coffee, i became immediately angry when I grabbed plastic fruit. This was going to be my breakfast, and I now did not have time to go eat at the cafe or go out to a restaurant for breakfast. I then turned around to the person I was checking out with and made a statement that this is plastic, not real fruit. What am I gonna be eating for breakfast now? The reaction was, "Oh yeah, that's plastic." It's for display with a small giggle.
It's the little things that dropped this review...
Read moreThe staff was amazing. That's hands down the best thing about this hotel. They welcome you in, and they wish you a good day when you're heading out. If you need anything, they're amazingly kind and helpful. They offer breakfast, for a fee, and a little "market" with drinks, snacks, etc. There's also a restaurant for dinner and a bar. I didn't have housekeeping while I was there, but I did see them in the hallways and was able to get extra towels and tissues for the room during my stay. Also, I like that they have full size shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion dispensers in the bathrooms. Our room didn't have a hand soap dispenser, but the usual small bar soap was provided. The AC doesn't go as low as I'd like, so sometimes I'd get warm in the room overnight. Other than that, the only reason I didn't absolutely love it is because you could hear a fair bit of noise. You hear housekeeping knocking on other rooms and announcing themselves before entering, you hear the vacuum while they clean the rooms and hallways, you hear people talking in the hallways, sometimes you can hear the TV of the room next door, and one night I could even hear a drunk at the bar plain as day in my room. It's not horrible, but it is an annoyance - that's why I took a star off for the rooms themselves. Our remote for the TV was a little finicky too, some buttons didn't work, some you had press really hard or repeatedly. Oh, and also, there's a little patio area that was nice to sit at for lunch. There is a pool, and a hot tub, but I didn't use either of them. And not specifically about the hotel, but location wise, it's easy to get to and there's little food places within walking distance (Starbucks, Quiznos, Jack in the Box, Subway, Jamba Juice, Carls Jr, etc). Lastly, I promise, they're pet friendly and there are grassy areas and poop bag stations in a couple places, so it's dog friendly too! All in all, I'd stay here again. TL;DR: it's a nice hotel with amazing staff, and pet friendly, you'll probably...
