I had a nice stay, overall it was great. The front desk staff when we arrived was helpful, and the bellman was super helpful with helping us get a cart for our luggage. We were up north this weekend for two weddings and it was important for us to have a good night's sleep, and your beds were amazing. The pillows were soft and just as we requested: no feathers! :)
Only a few things came to mind when it came to our room, though. We noticed that the phone cord on our phone was literally frayed to the point where the connection to the phone receiver and to the phone itself were stripped. I wanted to take a photo, but I thought it'd be in poor taste. The carpet looked like it needed another run through with the the vacuum cleaner, and we didn't have any lotion or an extra set of shampoo. Normally when we stay at a Marriott property, we get two of everything, so we just found it odd.
At breakfast, we had the usual fare, which was scrambled eggs, and oatmeal. We came down at 8am, just 30 minutes short of the time it started, and there was hardly any ham, and the the table seating, which was by the lobby, just seemed so scattered. Most of the guests who were there weren't even eating, yet somehow each and every spot was taken and it wasn't the staff's fault, but these guests just didn't even clean up their stuff from tables. Rather off-putting, really. :( But overall, like we said, we had a nice stay. It's a quiet property, and sure, we could have called the front desk for extra stuff, but it seemed so trivial. Definitely would return again, as my cousin lives nearby in Vacaville, and we come up all the time for conferences. But definitely get that telephone fixed. One of the pluses: the fact that we could do our streaming on Netflix or Hulu was awesome. We were able to do this at the Marriott in St. Louis Missouri, and we figured it was because we stayed at the Grand, we may not be so lucky at the Springhill Suites, but we were quite mistaken! We love that you can put in your info, or not, and just have your device know that you want to let it run on a new device, then when you check out, just delete it again! Very cool.
Overall, a nice stay, and we'd...
Read moreNot quite as represented; poor ADA compliance. The website shows clear pictures of a swimming pool. Apparently that’s an old picture. No pool. The website also clearly says breakfast to order. Not correct. It’s a typical hotel buffet of pre cooked food in sterno hot trays. Nothing awful, but not as represented. Biggest issue is I am in a wheelchair. I requested a mobility accessible room with shower chair clearly on my website reservation. Arrived to find that while I WAS in what they considered a “mobility room” , there were some major issues. While there was a sliding handheld showerhead and grab bars, there was NO shower seat…. So the showerhead and bars were a moot point. The front desk simply said we only have ONE(??!!??) room with a shower seat, it’s taken. We have NO portable shower seats to put in rooms. No explanation why my request made online a week earlier was not honored or reserved. So unable to use the shower for the 3 days there. NOT GOOD Also, the beds, while comfy, were the VERY high common style used these days. Well, there is NO WAY a paraplegic could possibly climb into that bed. I can walk a little and barely managed. My sister had to bring our step stool for getting into to car up to our room in order to climb into to bed. Unacceptable for someone disabled. We asked for a chair to be brought into our room for my other disabled sister to sit on to wash (remember no shower chair) and they refused, saying fire rules…. But WE could bring one in if we wanted…. Huh? Last inconsistency, was clearly advertised on website that there was a “sofa bed”. Not true. Apparently they are all TRUNDLE beds…. Impossible for an elderly or disabled person to get into and out of since they’re basically a slide out mattress on the floor. We specifically stayed here because as 3 disabled sisters traveling together we needed 3 separate beds in a room, hard to find. She ended up sleeping on the sofa, no pullout or bed. Please update your website to be true. Please comply with ADA...
Read moreSpringHill Suites was a fantastic location for a family of 5 passing through Sacramento on a road trip. Checking in was made easy; all it took was clicking a page on a smartphone. Once we arrived, the ladies at the front desk were very kind and friendly. Interaction was short, however, because we merely had to grab the key cards after remotely checking in. Finally, the room was large, very clean, and easily fit 5. Inside were two queen sized beds and a huge futon. Other amenities included a desk, kitchen sink, coffeemaker, mini-fridge, microwave, and a walk-in closet. Also, there was a smart-thermostat with touch screen that worked quite well.
Next, the free continental breakfast greatly exceeded my expectations. There were several waffle makers, eggs, ham, cereal, bread products including bagels, juice, coffee, fruit, milk, and yogurt. I was very satisfied with the seating situation as well.
The hotel's gym looked small, with only a few and cardio machines and possibly some weights. But it's certainly sufficient. Similarly, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were perhaps nothing special, but looked very clean and enjoyable.
Finally, my one gripe with SpringHill is the internet. From what I could tell, there was simply no wifi password. Instead, they offered a tier of options, starting with a free, adequately slow, unprotected option. There was at least one paid tier that was apparently meant for video streaming and other bandwidth sucking tasks. This option costs $4.99 a day.
Overall, I would indeed recommend this hotel. Its standout features include hassle free check-in, cleanliness, spaciousness, and that...
