I came here because my friend brought me. She had been here all the time when it was the bantam chef however, this new place kept their famous fish sandwich, thankfully. It's Alaskan cod. It is massive and super delicious. Priced at $13
The cashier said that the owner is really from Boston. It has been recently renovated I'm guessing because every finish looks brand new.
The staff was super sweet. We went on a Tuesday at 7:30 in the place was a ghost town but to our advantage or fish sandwich came out literally in about six. Minutes. They're fresh what is fried perfectly. The french fries were a bit over salted for my friend but for me, they were fine they do serve a thick fry. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside perfectly done.
For the amount of sandwich you got it was very reasonably priced .
This place is on Granada towards the back entrance of the Lightner Museum. You can get parking in the city lots all around the restaurant. I love how they had their menu posted outside.
They have a couple of picnic tables outside, and the weather is always so great so it's a perfect option.
Definitely will be back.
Great food great service and super cute...
Read moreMy family and I was so excited to try this place. We drove down from Jacksonville Saturday evening for dinner. The atmosphere/ decor was nice. Customer service was excellent. The Lobster roll was pricey $36 but delicious! We ended up ordering 4 . The Clam chowda was creamy and tasty. We also ordered 4 of those. Everything else was just ok. I ordered the large seafood platter $45. Unfortunately the scallops were no good we had to return them . The clams were overcooked. The fried Lobster was salty but cooked perfectly. The cheap pollock fish was tasty. The hush puppies were hard and dark. Me being a Bostonian , I was sooo disappointed . They also advertised a fenway frank for $6. The hot dog they served us was a total joke . It was either microwaved or cooked the day before. We returned that also. We ordered the crab cake sandwich it was decent. We also ordered the Lobster tacos not good at all, they used canned corn the and the trash part of iceberg lettuce. They lacked flavor and was not worth the $19. After spending close to $300 . I would only recommend the Lobster rolls and the clam chowda. However my family and I will not be returning...
Read moreThe Lobster rolls are fantastic but expensive, and its hard to mess those up. The 24$ is enough. We've tried most other things on the menu. If you come here, ONLY get the roll, everything else is heated up garbage and anything with lobster in the name except the rolls gives you 4 or 5 chunks, maybe. Ordered a side salad and got more croutons than lettuce, the lobster mac and cheese was re-heated bowtie pasta and hardly and cheese, and the bisque comes from a frozen bucket. 2 stars only because the lobster roll is delicious and the only place you can get it in the area.
UPDATE: A new place opened downtown that has lobster rolls. I haven't tried them yet BUT this place changed their lobster rolls to smaller buns and less meat for the SAME price. Not only that, but the one I had the lobster was gamey and chewy. So long story short the 1 thing they had going for them they no longer do. And for good measure I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to notice I was there to take my order... I will not be going back and suggest people check out the other one downtown. Something DJ's clamshack I think. I don't see how they could not be...
