Empress Motel — Hotel in Saint Petersburg

Motel (now called the “Uptown Suites”) was ok for what we needed. Went to a Rays game and John’s Pass which are both close-by. Motel is VERY basic. Rooms have been somewhat remodeled including vinyl planking in the floors, You would think that flooring like this would be easy enough for them to clean but after we walked around for a few minutes the bottom of our feet were black…it was gross. Beds are ok but pillows are awful…bring your own. The one good feature is that it was a two bedroom and a kitchen. Parking is very limited. Lots of fruit flies flying around. Window air conditioning units but only in the living room area and one of the bedrooms. Had to open the window in the 2nd bedroom but it kept falling off of the track. Very small bathroom. The top of the toilet tank was missing so they put a piece of the floor planking over it. Shower was ok….only has a hand-held shower head. If you need something fairly cheap to stay in the area for one night, then this motel is fine. Would not recommend more than that. I think there may be rooms where people actually live here full time but not sure. Heavy smell of weed outside the rooms when we returned to the motel after dinner.|Upon check-out, I mentioned how dirty the floors were in our room. I would give this place no stars. Clean rooms? Yeah if you call it clean walking barefoot on the tile and looking at the bottom of your feet to find them black with dirt and god knows what else germs and bacteria. IT'S LIKE THEY NEVER MOPPED THE FLOOR ONCE!!! So why would anything else be cleaned? Well it's not! Pillow had stains and bedding uncomfortable, musky scent in room. Bathroom smelled like athletes foot and dirt/dust literally in ever corner and edge. Air shuts off when microwave goes on because the outlet can't handle all the power. Paper thin walls and a family of 5 next door with screaming kids all night and whooping cough. Just nasty. Ew. Depressing. Don't stay here. Can't...

Clean rooms. But certain staff are very rude. And show favoritism towards the drug dealers who pay to keep stuff hidden from owners mongi. Letting certain tenants that give her drugs pay back large amounts of rent days later. Rents out rooms for and hour then keeps the money.. She puts all the work on older lady Dorothy. And the maintenance man. Won't dare say anything to diff races and won't tell them to be quite. EVER! BUT OTHERS SHE IS RUDE DISRESPECTFUL SHORT AND TREATS OTHERS AS IF SHE IS BETTER THEN US.
