We got stuck in Salina, KS on a roadtrip back home across the country due to the Blizzard 1/5/25. The hotel staff was BEYOND nice and accommodating even with the influx of people! Once checking into the front desk and being greeted with such warmth and a smile, we knew we made the right decision on hotel. We grabbed food and drinks (as well as everyone else staying the night) but the staff kept smiles on their faces even when faced with a ton of hungry, thirsty and tired people! There of course was a wait on food and drinks but with that amount of people being served at one time- it was expected and didn’t bother us one bit! The drinks were great and food was delicious! Also, the same staff that was working when We went to sleep- were the same people who greeted us that morning! They had to have been exhausted but still smiling! The experience we had melted away the stress of being stuck in a blizzard and a day behind schedule on getting home. We always choose Hilton and we will continue to choose Hilton! Thank you to everyone who worked during our stay!

If you're passing through Salina and need a reliable place to crash, the Hilton Garden Inn has you covered. It's conveniently located just off I-135, making it an easy stopover. I booked a king room, and it was spot-on. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean and modern—just what you need after a long day. Needed some extra pillows and blankets. No problem; the staff promptly delivered them. Plus, they acknowledged my Hilton Honors Silver status, which doesn't always happen. Grabbed dinner at the hotel restaurant one night. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5—not bad at all. But the real win was the bartender; the cocktails were on point. A couple of quirks: the blankets are very thin (hence the need for two) the entrance doors were a bit janky, not sliding open or closing smoothly, and the heater near the entrance blasted like a wind tunnel every time I walked through. Overall, the Hilton Garden Inn Salina is a solid spot with great service and easy highway access. Just watch out for that entrance heater unless you're into the windblown look.

We are Hilton Diamond members and stay exclusively at Hilton Properties. We have to be in Salina, KS a few times year for work obligations so we stay at the Hilton Garden Inn frequently and this stay was for 5 nights at this property and 5 nights at the other Hilton property in town. Our stays are normally very pleasant. We had a long day and grabbed some Chick Fil A and brought it back to the hotel to eat. We sat down with our 2 year old to eat in the lobby/breakfast area and were told we couldn't eat there. I thought the guy was joking at first, but he told us we had to move to the other side of the fireplace where there really wasn't a good table to eat from. The lobby and breakfast seating area was almost completely empty. I thought it was just a really strange request. We moved and didn't make a big deal about it, but it seemed really unnecessary. I am including a photo of the dining area.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Salina KS. Shortly after plugging into a ChargePoint L2 charger I got a message that I am going to be charged $2.31 per hour for the first four hours, and then the rate would go to $5.00 per hour. When I looked at the full charge schedule, they were also going to charge $0.25 per kWh for the first 4 hours and then it would increase to $0.35 per kWh. ||My experience with Hilton properties has been that L2 charging is generally free, so you could see why I was so surprised. I unplugged and drove to an EA L3 charger and then came back to my room.||Knowing full well that the price on the charging was above his pay grade, I complained to the manager that this was excessive since based on the 6 kWh put out by these chargers, it would normally take all night to reach 80% charge.||He was full of misinformation. The first thing he said was that all Hilton Gardens charge the same rate. So, I did a little research. The Hilton Garden in Hays KS has 4 Blink L2 chargers and they charge $0.39 per kWh, and no parking fee. The $0.39 is a reasonable rate and I wouldn’t have any problem with it, although the Hampton Inn in Hays is totally free.||I also, just for grins, checked in Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Colorado Springs. The downtown hotel charges all guests for parking, but charging is free.||His second bit of misinformation was that the reason the rate goes up after 4 hours was that vehicles should be able to fully charge in 4 hours. At a charge rate of 6 kWh, this would never be the case if the battery is down at all. And even if it were two, you check in a 9:00 pm and then need to get up a 1:00 am and unplug the car?||His final bit of misinformation was that the rate goes up after 4 hours because it puts more stress on the charger. Well, I am not an electrical engineer, but I have been following charging technologies for several years, and I have never come across any indication that extended charging on a L2 charger stresses it. Could be the case on extended charging on a L3 charger, but it would also be hard on the car’s battery.||In any case, I won’t be staying at this hotel again. There is a Marriott Courtyard a couple blocks away that has free charging. But I will be sure to check the price on charging before booking hotels in...

Long story short. If I could give it a “0” I definitely would for customer service. WORST customer service ever at a hotel!!! We are originally from Salina, moved to Colorado, not even a year later and we came back to visit family during a family emergency! My husband had already booked our room with a “3rd party booking agency” as the rude lady had told me over the phone. But because my husband still had a saline county ID he wasn’t able to keep his booking because they don’t book “locals” as the woman had told me over the phone after he had already booked and paid! This of course had me very frustrated because we are already traveling back for an emergency so we had to end up switching hotels because they said we were still “locals” the lady also told me after I expressed my concerns for the situation how we booked during a family emergency and both of our IDs were still in KS because obviously during the Covid situation and moving to Colorado during the pandemic that we couldn’t change our ids right away she didn’t care and said I quote “there are plenty of hotels that will take you”. Yeah okay I would definitely rather take my money else where. What a total waste of time and rude customer service. My family and I will now take our business else where rather than Hilton. This was just ridiculous and a waste of time. ALSO I would go gracefully across the street to the amazing customer service hotel, the Holiday Inn, they have AMAZING customer service and were very helpful! Also beautiful rooms, warm pool, hot tub and breakfast! PLUS no...

Disappointing. Not worth the $324 I paid for 2 people for 2 nights. If you want breakfast, it's an additional $11 per person. Be aware a $30 charge per night hold will be placed on your card in addition to the room cost. The best thing I can say is that the mattress is extremely comfortable and the Neutragena products were a nice touch. I will not book a reservation here again. Most staff were wonderful, but the person my husband talked to about the hold on our credit card was extremely rude and kept talking over the top of him.

I have read the response from the owner and want to say that I did not go to a third party site. I went to the Hilton website. An employee told me when I checked out that she couldn't give me a receipt because even though I went to the Hilton website that there are "leeches" out there on the web that snatch the reservation away from the website. Sounds like Hilton's website isn't secure. Also my issue regarding the hold on my card wouldn't have upset me if I'd received proper info at check-in. I said my card had already been charged and asked if the reason my card was needed was so they could verify my info. I was told yes and also so that if we decided to get snacks or a meal the card would be on file to charge. I felt the way it was put that they needed the card I had paid for the room with. I was never told a hold would be put on that card and that is what I'm upset about. If I had been told the truth, I would have given a different card so that the card I reserved with wouldn't end up going...
