Baymont by Wyndham Salisbury MD — Hotel in Salisbury

I had booked my room months ago. Wanted a king bed room. Checked in and went to the first room ( it was not cleaned from the previous guest), back to the office and was given another room, but queen size beds ( it also was not cleaned from the previous guest), back to the office (given another room) this one is clean. Area the hotel was in was dirty and sketchy. The vending machines (snacks were empty and soda machine did not work), missing a blind or drapes from my window which allowed light in throughout the night, the “new construction” looked like it was done by no one that knew what they were doing. Shower drain, lumber still has stickers on it, tiling in shower was wavy and sloppy, paint on fixtures, dripped on floor, on molding, on new shower floor. No closet, no coffee for my coffee maker, toilet seat was loose which I almost fell when sitting down, the bed frames made a horrific noise when moving, the one bed has its legs sitting on wads of paper towels, a bug in my ice bucket and no tissues offered. For a Wyndham hotel, this place was a disgrace. Offered no satisfaction for the room mishap and just blamed it on they can’t keep housekeeping. Pay more to stay anywhere else...

This property has a morbid history.

I see a number of comments about the rooms having been "gutted". I'm quite familiar with the property, having been the Night Auditor February, 1985 until April, 1987, when it was a Holiday Inn. Bringing the property up to par for 21st Century business travelers would require a major investment:

The hotel had a water flow heating and cooling system, which was outdated even in the 1980s. It would regularly shut itself off, forcing me to walk back and restart it.

It was wired during the analog era, making it archaic today.

There was a backup in the kitchen's sewer lines. I would smell the stench when I walked past the dishwashing station.

That's why this property languished as an America's Best Value Inn in recent years. Kudos to the new owners for...

STAY AWAY!! BED BUGS!!! NOT SAFE!!! The female manager was rude.. I took pictures and messaged the office about the bed sheets being dirty and having another person's hair on them and signs of bed bugs. She called me a liar and that my pictures weren't from the room and kicked me out. Come to find out later that day from affiliates for the event we were attending at the Salisbury location, other individuals couldn't lock there door, the saw bugs crawling everywhere and the bed sheets had hair and cigarette buds on them..
