Mattress Firm Plaza Pacifica - San Clemente — Hotel in San Clemente

Since we are kind of new to middle age, my wife and I have suddenly found ourselves much more discerning and particular about our sleeping set-up. I have been making all manner of pillow towers and the like to sleep in a way that takes the pressure off my back. My wife is particular about her pillow situation and side-sleeping softness.

We went in to Mattress Firm the other day (July 2024) hoping to find a new set-up to alleviate this early-40s sleep fusiness, and we were met be Nick, the San Clemente store's general manager. We had a laundry list of questions and Nick met them all with encyclopedic somnial expertise and non-pushy friendliness and honesty. Nick guided us toward s great deal on an excellent mattress. My wife and I appreciated his transparency about the products and their prices, encouraging us to purchase a great, highly discounted floor model of a Stearns & Foster. He also let us know which accoutrements (like a mattress protector) could be purchased at other stores at a lower price. He also had an encyclopaedic knowledge of both the mattresses and pillows, and didn't bat an eye when I mentioned my highly particular sleeping posture nor my wife's fastidiousness with regard to pillows.

Nick also let us know that he came from the pharmaceutical industry and was glad for his career shift, as he sees a much clearer throughline between his work and the flourishing of his customers.

Edit: The delivery guys were also excellent! They mentioned that they'd be able to keep our bed's slats and legs despite the new, adjustable frame. They were efficient and very respectful with me and with our space.

Drew, James and Christal took very good care of us. The customer service was great, and Drew took time to explain and was very knowledgeable. James did a great job completing the order and making sure we got the discounts and timely delivery. There were several mattresses to choose from in our desired price range which was not the case at another store. We really liked the way they store some mattresses to be able to test out multiple. They didn't charge a fee to deliver which others do and only a small recycling fee was charged to take the old mattress. We will be future returning customers! We were all set for a day of comparison shopping to find just the right mattress at just the right price. I'm so glad we decided to start our search at the Mattress Firm. We were the first customers of the day and Ed gave us a warm greeting. I was anticipating a hard sell approach all day long and was relieved to get just the opposite from Ed. He simply started asking questions and listened closely to what we wanted. He helped us narrow down the selections to just what we were looking for.
