China Bros — Restaurant in San Clemente

I had the unfortunate experience of dining at China Brothers Chinese restaurant in San Clemente, and I must say it was nothing short of disappointing. I wouldn't even give it one star if I could.

First and foremost, the menu at this place is a complete misrepresentation of what you actually receive. It's like they have a magical Photoshop tool to make their dishes look much better than they are. I ordered a dish that was supposed to be a savory delight, but when I got home and opened the bag, I was greeted with a sad excuse for a meal.

The biggest issue I had was the ratio of vegetables to meat. It's as if they have a vendetta against meat or they are trying to save every last penny by skimping on it. My plate was overflowing with vegetables, and I had to search for the microscopic pieces of meat hidden beneath a sea of broccoli and carrots. It felt like I was eating a stir-fry salad rather than a meaty Chinese dish.

Moreover, the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. The tables were sticky, and I had to wipe them down myself before sitting down. It was evident that they hadn't put in the effort to maintain a clean and inviting dining environment.

In conclusion, China Brothers Chinese restaurant in San Clemente is a prime example of false advertising and subpar quality. They lure you in with appealing menu pictures, only to serve you a meal that is a far cry from what you expect. If you value your money and your taste buds, I would strongly advise against dining at this establishment. Save yourself the disappointment and find a better Chinese...

RECOMMENDATION - Cheap Chinese - similar to Panda, but a little cheaper. I’ve been here 3x, every time after I wonder why I keep coming back. (12:30pm Saturday- no wait) (Just me)

VALUE - $17.98 including tip - 3/5 I prob should have just gotten it to go, then skipped having to pay a tip. Orange chicken lunch menu plus a soda - 3/5 Orange chicken, maybe half of it was the little bits of fried batter with no chicken. maybe 4 pieces of actual Chicken. Tasty sauce but a rip of not enough actual Chicken. Fried rice was good. Chow mein - Not for me. I didn’t like it.

PORTION SIZE- 4/5 Decent portion size. If you’re a teenager looking for fast Chinese food, this is a good option.

SERVICE- 5/5 Super friendly and quick to serve.

Time to Karen it up. Takes a lot to get me to actually write a review; positive or negative. Had to run into the store next door and saw the sign and figured, why not. Beats the usual T-Bell or Pollo lunch run. Big mistake. First, took half my lunch break just to get my order and there were only 2 people in front of me. Big deal, made to order, can deal. But the disappointment that awaited me upon sitting down at my desk and opening the containers... SHAME (rings bell). The beef was chewy and fatty. Almost no texture and minimal flavor. Bad enough I am sitting here on the last 5 minutes of my precious lunch break writing this nonsense. Fried rice was meh. Sauce is super runny. Panda is 5 star next to this and fine dining.
