We visiting the ballpark at Vista Hermosa yesterday to get some batting practice in for our 11 year old son. We were approached by a member of the San Clemente Little League (Mark Neidl) and we were asked if our son plays for san Clemente Little League and we told him "no" Mr Neidl then told us that we can use the batting cage but not the fields and we told Mr. Neidl that the San Clemente City website states that the fields are for public use from 8am to 10pm, first come, first served as long as there were not any games going on for that particular field (which their was not) Mr Neidl said "I doubt that is what the website says" Mr. Neidl asked us to leave the field. We were clearly discriminated against because we our son was not a member of SCLL. I suggest Mr. Neidl read up on what discrimination means and familiarize himself with the city's rules for public use of the parks
From San Clemente City Website: "You are welcome to utilize the City’s ball fields from 8:00am to 10:00 pm, without charge or reservation, on a first-come, first...
Read moreOverall this a great facility, however my experience with baseball field 1, or the big field, wasn't good. No High School prospect would want to risk his future on this field. I see up to 3-4 different fields a week in Orange County, this field is by far in the poorest condition I've seen in the county. Most cities, leagues and districts took the opportunity of Covid quarantine to improve their sports fields; not the city of...
