This location has to stop the racial profiling! I know this is a predominantly caucasian area, however it's no excuse for the difference in treatment of people. I wouldn't have thought anything of it had it not happened during all 3 of my visits. I Recently moved to San Clemente and am a frequent Walmart shopper, so I'm used to "scan your receipt, check your items" routine when you're walking out of the store. Here's a breakdown of why I'm so frustrated: 1st visit: Employee's followed me and my son around. I was asked more than 4 times if I need help finding anything. I used to work in retail so I know the drill. My son and I are both mixed race where the African American prevails the most. My son was dressed in a hoodie and basketball shorts and I just so happened to not look my best that day. But it's still no excuse to follow us around and not the caucasian couple I came across who just so happened to be throwing items in the back of their stroller (and yes, they had a cart too that wasn't full) 2nd Visit: 3 people in the store with dogs, myself included. One of the women with a dog was walking out of the store in front of/with me and her dog was in the cart where we normally place children or smaller items. Her dog had been in the cart for a while as I'd seen her several times in the store. My dog had just been placed in the basket so I could comfortably checkout and walk out of the store and show my receipt. Guess who the front door associate said something to? Yep, you got it, Me! The woman in front of me got away Scott free. Again, she was caucasian. 3rd Visit: I have my pickup order in my cart in addition to $285 worth of items in bags. Receipt in hand ready to show the front door associate. Never in my history of Walmart visits have I ever been stopped, looked at up and down, and then the associate proceeds to count my items one by one to match my receipt. Wow! Just wow! Not to mention there were people (caucasian) walking out with me who just glided on by no problem. So, she's scanning and counting and for some reason can't get the receipt to match a scan for my pickup item. LADY! THE ORANGE STICKER on that box clearly tells you it's a pickup item. I had to tell her "your not going to find that on the receipt because it's a pickup item" as I'm pointing at the sticker that's on her side and very visible to her. I guess she realized I felt profiled because she let me out of the store after that. I'm considering driving to Target to see if I get better service. I've never felt so profiled in my life. I'm scared to walk around this Walmart honestly. I feel embarrassed like I'm actually doing something wrong. I've never stolen anything except a few hearts in my life so it's mind boggling to say the least when you realize how racist or biased people can be because of your skin color or the way you look. Maybe some profiling training might be in order for employees at...
Read moreThe San Clemente Walmart is the one closest to my home. But unfortunately it's also the worst Walmart in the region.
As an example im am physically handicapped so I use & appreciated the electric carts they supply. Having shopped at this store bout 3 times a month for the last 6 years thats easily over 200 times.
Today i came to buy some body pillow covers. I went to the section where bedding is to no avail. I ask a associate the 1st time and he simply pointed me to the pillow section and told thats where it would be at. WRONG. I kept looking and then this time I asked a stocking clerk for help and he was very attentive and truly tried to help me. But in his PDA as well as the website it had Body Pillows on H6 in the kitchen utensils department. Not even Walmart's IT can get their act together. So I tried looking again where the rest of the pillowcases were and again nothing.
I decided to leave figuring ill go to Target. Upon leaving a female ckerk stopped whereupon I pointed i had an empty basket and was simply leaving. She wanted me to return it to where they are parked. I'm assuming she probably wanted me to plug it in to charge too. I shook my head ans said no. I drove past her where upon the next woman told me I could not take the cart out of the store. I politely told her I could because im disabled and i've been here a couple hundred times and id never been told that.
Its disheartening that a multi national multi billion dollar company doesn't train their staff better. At this store like no other the light are dimmed at 10:30pm and so if you're still shopping, you have to do it with less light.
Ive had things like questioning the clearance tags on clothe at the register. Though literally bringing 2 other sizes of the identical shirt because the size I wanted didn't have any tag on it at all.
In many displays the hangar's are hung backwards, so you can't read the sizes
I returned things to other stores with no receipt. Because they look it up. Using the debit card or credit card are used to purchase it. Not at this store.
There have been varied other issues, but it's still the closest one to me. But today I felt like as a handicapped person they'll take my money, but some associates are too lazy to get their electric shopping cart from the parking lot to bring it back in so that I don't have to walk because my back is killing me because i'm disabled. And I shouldn't have to explain that to anybody.
At the very least Target here I come and if you are closer or want a better customer service experience try and avoid this...
Read moreI brought my car to Walmart for an oil change on 2 separate occasions where they almost blew my engine. The first time they did my oil change and forgot to put the oil cap back on. I drove 1 hour home when I saw oil in my drive way opened the hood and Saw there mistake. I brought it back and they topped off my oil and replaced the oil cap. The manager didn’t reimburse me for my oil change or even gave me a free rotation. My satisfaction didn’t seem to be her top priority. I forgave Walmart and brought my vehicle back for an oil change and rotation 3 weeks ago I left my car and picked it up after work started driving saw smoke come from my engine and the back I turned around and brought it back to Walmart my check engine light came on and low oil level. When I got there there was oil all over my engine all over the under carriage of the car. They didn’t tighten my oil filter so the oil leaked all over. The technician tell la me to bring my car to get an engine was and they would pay me back I said no that’s your responsibility to fix this. I left my car there overnight they replaced my oil filter and wiped down my engine and under the car. What an inconvenience this was this was Friday afternoon I live and hour plus away and I had o hang out at Walmart to wait for my ride and go back on Saturday to pick up my car. Again the manager never came and talked to me When I picked up my car nor did he offer me a oil change coupon or a free rotation or even not charging me for the oil change based on what I just went through. That’s 2 separate vehicles that you guys almost ruin and no one took responsibility for the inconvenience I went through. So much for customer service. I will never shop at the Walmart in San Clemente California and I will never bring my vehicle back to Walmart for any car service again. I use to only buy my tires from Walmart but not anymore. You take my money but don’t seem to care about me the...
