Our family made a reservation online to stay at the hotel for one night. We checked in on 10/18/2024 and checked out on 10/19/2024 we were out of the hotel by 1030am. We attended a brunch and then drove up to Sacramento to catch our flight. Upon getting to the airport we realized we had left something in the hotel room. I called at 615pm to ask the hotel to check the room. I had to call 10 Times before I got a person. The manager Alex told me there was nothing he could do and to call back on 10/20/2019 at 9am. We still had friends in SLO so I called them to go by the hotel. One person went on 10/19 and was told they didn’t have the item another friend went by on 10/20 before the left town and was told the same thing. I called at 9am on 10/20 and was told my item was thrown in the trash the previous day and they didn’t have it. I questioned him on why they would throw it away (it was a personalized stuffed animal that was well loved). I was told they throw everything away|And that I should have called earlier. That I called too late and should have called when house keeping was at the hotel the day prior. I asked Alex if I could speak with his boss and he said yes and put me on hold. When the next person answer they sounded exactly the same, I asked for his name and he told me he wasn’t allowed to tell me, I questioned him and asked if he was the same person i just spoke with and he said yes, our conversation ended there. I posted on a local facebook group and five people went and on the hotel and asked about my item. He questioned a woman on how she knew about the item and she made him aware it was on social media, after he dismissed her and told her they didn’t have it she went outside to check their dumpster area. it was only after five attempts and letting him know that it was on social media did they come out to her with my item. The hotel never offered an apology or to even make arrangements to get my item Back to me. They never called to tell me they had it. The way the hotel handled it was disrespectful. I called the hotel after some random woman for my item back for me and asked to speak with Alex’s boss which would be the owner. I left my name and number and have not heard back. I would not recommend staying here. I can only assume that the staff at the hotel didn’t clean the room, or Alex didn’t even ask the staff Or that the staff thought they could keep the item themself or they really did throw it away and only retrieved my item after making a fuss about it. Either way it shouldn’t have taken such a fight to get my...
Read moreThe phrase “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover,” couldn’t be more apropos regarding this hotel. We were not expecting what we found inside.
First off, the accommodations were very modern and sleek. The bed and pillows were comfortable. This room had all the normal practicalities like a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron, and ironing board, but it also had a wine cooler - a great addition being in the heart of wine country. The television was larger than most hotels we’ve visited in SLO and the channel selection had everything for mom and dad, not to mention the kids. off, the accommodations were very modern and sleek. The swimming area was also an incredible surprise. The pool was larger than most and the surrounding area had picnic tables and bbq pits. The hot tub looked like it could hold twenty people and even had a section that was only one foot deep, should you want to just relax your feet.
And while the location is a few minutes from downtown, it’s also away from the hustle and bustle of such. The local Costco and Target are close by should you need gas or amenities.
Negatives? It takes four or five minutes for the water to heat up in the shower. Once we realized that, we simply turned on the water a few minutes before showering.
Other positives? In a post Covid world, every hotel we have stayed at only offers maid service if we request it. Imagine our surprise when we returned to our room and it had been Other positives? Everyone we came into contact with were very friendly and smiling.
Overall, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will be returning to this location. The value is tremendous and far beyond what we expected. And while the outside of the building may make one assume it is an ordinary, decades old hotel, I feel sorry for those that would observe this book’s cover and skip...

The room itself was not the best either. We reserved a standard two bed room and was given an accessible room. (Which is fine, we just needed two beds). However the room itself had a crack in the mirror that was huge the tv was mounted crooked on the wall and when we looked in the freezer it was covered if brown ice. Not one hanger in the room, an extra pillow or blanket.
I would not recommend staying there please go one of the hotels across the street that are in the same price range. This place doesn’t value...
