After a trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama we went through the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area and decided to spend a week there this year. We looked at family friendly hotels and private rentals and discovered the Waterscape Community. Waterscape had the best of both worlds with feeling of a hotel but with the functionality of a private rental. We talked with the various rental groups about wanting to be on the first floor close to everything and met Danica and her organization. She introduced us to A104 which was a unit in the front with walk out access to the pool and beach. Danica was an amazing host and provided and abundance of information about the area and also was very easy to work with regarding expectations for us as renters. The unit was very clean and with modern appliances that were easy to use. It was fully stocked with all types of household items for any type of cooking that you were planning. The room had 2.5 bathrooms, and the bathrooms in the bedrooms were very large. The unit had a bunk room and a pull-out couch so our party of 6 with a grandparent had plenty of space and privacy. In addition to full professional beach service with chairs and an umbrella, Danica had an outdoor trunk/chest filled with beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, and a wagon so anything that you might need for the beach was available. Danica was a great host and available by both text and email. We highly recommend Danica and this unit in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis would have been a higher rating except on the last day of our vacation, my wife brought her bag down to the pool area and set it between some chairs so she could walk back up to the room and grab more of our stuff (we have a big family). When she came back, her bag was gone. After calling Vacasa and searching the area for an employee, we finally found one of the pool attendants and ask them. They Apparently took it and locked it in their locker because it had been sitting longer than 15 min- mind you, there are other bags laying around with no one next to them and its a 20 min round trip walk to the room. WHY do this? It wouldn't have been such a significant issue except the bag contained inhalers and epi pens my family needs in emergency situations. When my wife and I approached the pool attendant, she gave no concern or apology and instead we were met with attitude and a "DGAF" mentality you wouldn't expect from such a "family friendly" resort. We won't be back. The entire area has gone downhill in the last 10 years and the area is in dissaray. We took a chance on this place instead of our normal Gulf Shores spot but we wont be back. We will go back to Gulf Shores next year. Avoid this place and go somewhere that appreciates the guests...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLoved our first experience at Waterscape. We had a group of 4 adults and 3 kids - our condo had 4 bedrooms (one master, one queen, one with twin beds, and a built in bunk bed area). The room worked really well with our group.
Appliances were in good condition (laundry, dishwasher, showers, stove, etc) and we had everything we needed to cook homemade meals the majority of the nights without issues.
The Waterscape pool area was awesome. Thereās a kiddie pool with fun activities and sprinklers, a mid-sized pool that offers plenty of space for swimming, a larger pool with walk-in entrance and deep end with activities for larger kids, and the lazy River. We enjoyed the pool decks and it never felt over crowded for our early May trip.
The beach front is accessible with a 100 yard walk, if that⦠the crew gets the beach chairs out each morning between 8:30 and 9:30, and thereās plenty of space to sit if you get out early! The beach was in great shape and had plenty of room for the kids to bring toys and play - the water was a little cool during our trip but was very clear!
The location is also walking distance to restaurants or a short drive to shops, restaurants, fishing, etc.
We will definitely be visiting this...
