I recently stayed at the Flamingo Inn in Sarasota, FL, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I feel compelled to share my disappointing encounter with the hope that it will shed light on the issues I faced during my stay.
First and foremost, the supervisor's behavior was simply appalling. Not only was he consistently rude, but he also displayed clear signs of discrimination, which is entirely unacceptable. Such behavior should never be tolerated in any professional setting, especially in the hospitality industry where guests expect to be treated with respect and courtesy.
On top of the supervisor's deplorable conduct, I encountered numerous inconveniences that significantly impacted my stay. The low water pressure in the shower made it difficult to have a refreshing bathing experience. It was extremely frustrating and definitely not what one expects from a supposedly well-maintained establishment.
To make matters worse, upon entering my unit, I was greeted by the presence of a large dead cockroach. This discovery not only disgusted me but also raised concerns about the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards of the Flamingo Inn.
Moreover, the TV in my room had frequent connectivity issues, preventing me from enjoying any uninterrupted entertainment. Considering the prevalence of technology in today's world, it is disheartening that the hotel could not ensure a reliable TV connection for its guests.
The advertised "free" Wi-Fi was nothing short of a disappointment. The connection was extremely unreliable and frustratingly slow. It is misleading to advertise a service as complimentary when it fails to meet even the most basic expectations.
Adding to the list of letdowns, the hotel's listing showcased a beautiful pool; however, upon arrival, I discovered that it had been inexplicably cemented over. This misrepresentation was highly disappointing, as I had been looking forward to enjoying a relaxing swim during my stay.
Despite these numerous disappointments, I must acknowledge the positive interactions I had with the cleaning staff. The two cleaning ladies were the only bright spots during my time at the Flamingo Inn. They were kind, cordial, and pleasant to talk to. Their efforts should be commended amidst an otherwise disappointing experience.
Until new management is hired and significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend anyone to stay at the...
Read moreI was here for 5days and had to remind them the room was rented while there was a broken sink in the bathroom. Laurie is never at the front desk and became irate when I informed her she never gave me a receipt nor did the housekeeper ever offer us clean linens. I had to request these items from work as well as clean the room myself after work. I was already being targeted because of my race by management or whomever lives on-site (because they don't identify themselves) inquiring about my son and my registration card has everyone listed on it. I got in only because I have history around town. I would never recommend this place to anyone because Larie told me she got a complaint about my room, but would not say why. Asking around I was made aware that it was my daughter who was visiting and has mental health problems. She is highly unprofessional. With that she asked to copy my bank card. Who...
Read morePaid full price (over priced) at check in. The pool was green looked like it hasn't been touched in months, nothing was said on booking.com, nothing was said at check in about it. Tried to ask about it or ask why the rooms weren't discounted do to the fact that the we couldn't use amenities clearly advertised for a full price room....was told if I didn't like it then to leave and go elsewhere. Which I would have done but they already charged me for the full weekend before I even checked into our room and they wouldn't give a refund so I HAD to stay there. The windows locked ONLY with a wooden stick greatfully provided by the company. The staff couldnt care less, extremely rude, they take your money up front and dont care about ANYTHING ELSE after that. Horrible...
