I checked in around 8 or 9 PM, and a skinny male with a very heavy accent assisted me. Unfortunately, he was difficult to understand, which was frustrating given that this is an upscale hotel where clear communication with staff is expected. Don’t get me wrong—I love meeting people from different backgrounds—but something about this man came off the wrong way. He wasn’t as friendly or respectful as you’d expect from hotel staff. There was almost a sense of animosity or jealousy, perhaps because I was renting a nice hotel while he was working on a Saturday night. I know it’s unfortunate, but some people have to work.
The Good
That said, he did accommodate my request for a third-floor room, which was appreciated. Upon entering the hotel, I was very impressed by the lobby—it was beautiful. They have a cozy hangout area with a fireplace, a pool, and a gym. While the gym could use a little love, the rest of the area was very well-maintained. The elevator was extremely nice, and each floor has a phone in the hallway, which is great for emergencies or if you get locked out. The hallways were clean and undamaged, with nice carpeting. Each floor also has an ice machine, which is a nice convenience.
Once I got to my room, I was pleased with what I saw. The tap card and NFC scanner on the door worked flawlessly. Inside, the room was clean, with nice carpets and modern lighting fixtures. The bathroom was particularly impressive, featuring beautiful glasswork. The bed was extremely comfortable, with soft pillows and an effective heating and AC system that kept the room at the perfect temperature.
One feature I really liked was the long countertops, which are great for working or just keeping things organized. The TV was a bit outdated, but honestly, it still worked fine, so I have no major complaints there. The walls were pretty soundproof, though the ceilings could be a little noisy if someone dropped something above. However, from 10 PM to about 10:30 AM, the hotel was very quiet, so no major issues with noise.
The Wi-Fi login process was a bit annoying, as they asked for a lot of unnecessary information that felt like an invasion of privacy. However, once filled out, it worked. That said, I think I mistyped something, so I just used my hotspot instead, which worked flawlessly.
Another great feature was the mini fridge and microwave, which worked perfectly. The fridge even managed to freeze a water bottle, which was impressive. The microwave popped my popcorn with no issues at all. There were plenty of clothes hangers, a hairdryer, and no cheap materials—everything felt high-quality. The blackout curtains were effective, blocking about 80% of the light, which is decent.
The Bad & The Ugly
The biggest downside was the front desk experience. The staff member’s attitude and lack of friendliness left a bad first impression. Whether it was jealousy or just a bad night, it wasn’t the level of service I expected from a Hilton property.
Another minor annoyance was the $3 water bottles placed in the room. If you’re not careful, you’ll be charged for them, so avoid drinking the water unless you’re okay with the cost.
Final Verdict
Despite those two issues, this is a phenomenal place to stay. I’ve stayed at another hotel in Schaumburg, and this one was far superior. Keep in mind—I’m a very, very picky reviewer, and I still give this place a solid 4 to 5 stars. If Hilton improves the customer service experience at check-in and makes the Wi-Fi login process simpler, this would easily be a 5-star stay.

Read moreI have mixed feelings about this location. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff for the most part are Friendly. When it came to dealing with pricing discrepancies at checkin one and check out A staff member names Ann had a unpleasant disposition with her customer service skills towards addressing me. There was a Steve who came over and handled the situation and took care of the situation in the way that Anne said it was not possible. After being finally checked into our rooms we discovered a pair of used underwear in the bathroom where the hairdryer is stored . We called the front desk and a staff member came because housekeeping wasn’t available and said they will speak to the manager about giving us a discount. When it came to registering the pool there was so many conflicts with the times that we preregistered for and how many people will be allowed in the room- one staff member said he wrote us down for a certain time another staff member change the time. Overall I would not return although it was a pleasant environment and for the most part the staff was pleasant but I will not go back due to the discrepancies with pricing and the issues that we had about getting them resolved. Upon check out we were told by Anne we would have pay full amount and call next day to speak to a manager about the stated discount we would get for the room not being properly clean because the manager was off and there was nothing that the she could do. I insisted on speaking with someone who handles issues with charges I insisted there had to be someone who would have the ability to handle issues and not have to wait until a manager comes on the next day. I was told this is a small hotel (the Hilton has a small hotel.?) Eventually after insisting waiting an half hour the Manager called and instructed Anne to take half off the room that was not cleaned Properly for one night. To my surprise she then gave the entire room for free after being on the computer for about 10 minutes saying she did not have the ability to do half off without her manager. This is from the woman who in the beginning said there was nothing she can do and eventually gave me the whole room for free I voiced my concern about her doing it for free instead of half off the way her manager instructed her to do and she insisted that there would not be an issue needless to say I will not return simply because of the...
Read moreOur room was the only guest room in the hallway. Room 133. If they give you this room, demand another room right away! You will NOT sleep a wink! It was a nightmare! We were placed next to the staff only rooms and the laundry room. The stench of TOXIC fabric softener fumigated our room. It was perfect for a person who just had a lobectomy due to carcinoids. Then there was the pounding of all the washers and dryers being used right next to us. It literally felt like they were in our room. There was a basketball court outside our windows where the “guests” bounced the balls on what seemed like our heads. It was that loud and that disturbing. Not to mention the vulgar language of “f bombs” and the “n word” that were being thrown around by all of these fine young men. I was utterly disgusted since there were so many children staying on premises. The air condition unit was so LOUD the rumble could be felt in our bed. I felt like we were “sleeping” (because we never really slept) next to a lawn mower. Did I mention we needed extra pillows but conveniently the phone in that room did not work? I’m sure it was done purposely due to all the complaints that come from the room! But no worries......the Hyatt Hotel has you covered. They offer you a lovely pair of complimentary EAR PLUGS on your nightstand with a note stating something like, “For your sleeping comfort!” I could not believe it! I wonder what happens during a fire. Do you actually hear the alarm with these heavy duty ear plugs you’ve provided? I went to complain to a young man named Shawn who was the only person working besides kitchen and cleaning staff. He was in the kitchen so I had to wait a lengthy amount of time for him to come to reception. I told him my concerns/complaints. He seemed to care zero. No apologies. No empathy. He Told me the general manager would call me tomorrow and address my concerns. Meanwhile, he wrote nothing down and I’m sure he will only give half the story. But he did make sure to mention that next time, I should make a special request not to be next to the laundry room since I have lung issues!!!! I couldn’t believe he said that!!! I will share this review everywhere on my social media accounts. Shame on you Hyatt hotel! You’re...
