Have never ever written a negative review but I think I must share my experience with other customers so that they are carful before placing their order and don’t go through what we have gone thought with VCF. There are delays in delivery of furniture throughout the industry, thanks to COVID and as consumers we get that, but the experience with VCF goes way beyond delays. We placed our order for a dining set, a sofa set, and a bedroom set on Sep 13th and were given Oct as our delivery timeline. As there was a constant date change in the delivery and every time when we called, we were told that there is no guarantee of delivery and were repeatedly prompted to cancel our order, which made us CANCEL our dining set order. In November we had over 4 times scheduled delivery that never showed up which wasted a lot of our time. After repeated store visit, we were promised delivery on Nov 20, and in that delivery all we received was 1 ottoman and boxes of bedroom furniture and were told by the delivery crew that there are some pieces of bedroom furniture missing, so assembly of bed cannot take place. We had boxes of furniture (part delivery) sitting in our bedroom for over weeks, where the assembly guys never shown up after confirming appointment for 2 times. Finally, when the assembly guy turned up one night at 7pm, he made us realise as if he is doing us a favour as made us do all the moving as he was not supposed to do this job by himself. During our visit at the store in Nov to address this issue, store manager informed us that the sofa is not going to arrive till Jan and there is no guarantee for a delivery in Jan, which made us CANCEL our sofa order as well and had to ask the store to pick up the Ottoman that was delivered and it was a struggle to get credit back for the Ottoman after pick. So, after 4 months all we are getting from VC is bedroom set, and today we got the delivery of dresser and the 2nd nightstand that was supposed to be delivered is missing and now we will be wasting more of our time to get this item. Also, the delivery fee credit of $150 that was promised never showed up. After waiting for 4 months, we are forced to reorder our furniture through other stores and VCF simply do not have any intent to full fill their delivery obligations. It is a complete mismanagement where none of the department talk with each other and wants to blame each other without any resolution for the customer. How can only a portion of order arrive when you have placed a full set? why not tell the customer of front that delivery is not carrying all the items required to assemble the product and if they want to accept such delivery where boxes will stay in their home for weeks and weeks? why deliveries are scheduled, and no one turns up to deliver and customers are not even informed if delivery is not...
Read moreFirst, we purchased 5 items all at once. A 6 piece kitchen set, 2 couches, a recliner, and a dresser. Out of the 5 items, we are quite disappointed with 4 of them. The quality is just atrocious. Everyday wear and tear has made them break down in just 2.5 years. Normally I'd say at least we have the "no hassle" protection plan to lean back on but every claim we've attempted to make was denied despite the sales rep promising it was covered. The finish rubbing off the couches where you sit.... not covered, the laminate peeling off the table top (no chemicals used).... not covered. Stains on the white topped kitchen chairs.... not covered, we wainted too long I guess). Finally, a chair leg actually broke and I called the same day! Not covered because it wasn't on an itemized receipt.... part of the 6 piece set. So I called the next closest store because mine was closed permanently. They told me the warranty company should have called to get an itemized receipt before denying the claim but emailed me it so I could resubmit. After 5 phone calls to different people with very poor customer service skills, the replacement was approved only to find out VCF didn't carry it anymore. More calls to both VCF customer service and the warranty company and a total set replacement was approved. At last we have something...... not just yet. My store closed so the warranty company repeatedly sent the closed store the purchase order. More phone calls to both VCF customer service and the Schaumburg store lead me around and around. Numerous promises to call me back broken until I waited on the phone with VCF customer service until they were emailed the PO and forwarded it to the store and a confirmation was received. Hassle free! Then the sales rep tried selling me the protection plan on the new kitchen set. I tried so hard not to laugh in his face. But they made it all better by taking off $150 from my $900 bill. $900 bill because the cost of goods have skyrocketed in the last 2.5 years and the warranty plan only applied what I paid originally, not replacement value. So I just paid $750 on replacing crappy furniture with almost the same set that I paid a replacement plan on.....hassle free of course. I will never recommend this furniture store or its...
Read moreI just purchased a chair for my living room and came to this location to pick it up. There were constant inconsistencies from customer service telling me my invoice has been voided and I paid for it fully to the sales rep telling me the warehouse worker was out for the day. I did not mind because I understand not everything goes smoothly.
I drove to the back to have people help me get my white armless chair into my car…on a rainy day. Two employees came out to “help me” and they refused to help me open the box and I ended up hurting myself due to staples all over the box (they would not even give me any tools to open the box…I had to ask for something). I opened the box and the two individuals pretended to try to help me put the chair into the car. One tried a little but refused to put any more effort in terms of flipping the chair, he was trying to be helpful and I appreciate his attempts. The other individual: Jose (the store manager) whose job is to help customers with their furniture completely backed away and refused to lift a finger.
They decided it won’t fit and I had to ask for a professional with a truck to come help me (they charged me). They left me outside on a rainy day with my white chair. I decided to lift the couch myself with my brother and hurt my back lifting it (because the professional didn’t what to even try). The couch fit just fine. I was told by the store I purchased the choice that someone will help me move the couch.
I called the store to talk to a manager and it turned out to be Jose, when I explained that he completely backed away causing me to hurt myself, he decided to come up with many excuses on why he didn’t want to help me. Even then there was no customer service, there were just comments about how he didn’t do anything wrong.
One individual tried to help and provide customer service but the other one (I think Jose was his name) did not even want to try. I ended up hurting my back because he didn’t want to lift a finger. Not going...
