We are a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids age 8 and 10) coming into the area from the east coast for a cruise. I meticulously researched locations and prices prior to booking. This hotel had the best price for a party of five compared to all other hotels by the airport or downtown. I almost canceled because I was so concerned with the negative reviews left by other guests.
Here are takeaways: Many people commented about the front desk staff in their reviews. I noticed that the morning and daytime shift was extremely friendly. The evening shift employee accomplished her job. I was prepared for the worst when we checked in around 10:30 PM. Everything went smoothly with no issues. She was a lady of few words.
The shuttle driver was extremely helpful and honest when we called him for a pick up at the airport at 10:00pm. Unfortunately, he had just pulled out and we missed him. He suggested we get an Uber instead because traffic was at an all-time high and we would’ve been standing there for over 30+ minutes. We decided it was worth paying the $18 for an UberXL to get from SeaTac to the hotel since we just missed him.
Our room was on the first floor and clearly has a fresh coat of paint. The window is also new and opens.
The bathroom is extremely clean.
The room has a small table, Tv, and 2 double/queen beds. I am surprised that they allowed five people to book in this room Because I would consider this room four occupancy. I was honest when booking online with my children’s ages and the amount of the adults. (Our 8 year old slept with my husband and I).
I paid 10 extra dollars for the “Deluxe non-smoking” room and it included a mini refrigerator and microwave within the room.
The carpeting in the room is the largest downfall and clearly needs cleaned and replaced. Although for less than $200 with taxes per night for five people, I can easily overlook the floor (bring slipper or flip flops for in room wear if you know that’s going to bother you.)
Yes, the lobby does smell like a Chinese restaurant. It is also louder in the lobby area because it is an open restaurant concept.
One of the elevators smells like Chinese food, and the second elevator does smell of marijuana. If the smell of marijuana concerns, you can always go on the Chinese restaurant smelling elevator, or take the steps.
There’s a laundry room that charges $1.75 per load and $1.75 for the dryer. Make sure you bring quarters if you’re using laundry.
We used the airport light rail to get to downtown for our sight seeing day. We took the hotel shuttle back over to the airport and everything went flawlessly around 10am. We ended up walking back from SeaTac airport to the hotel instead of the shuttle or Uber. I felt like it was very safe for the five of us. There were sidewalks the entire way. We walked back around 8 PM when it was still light out. I did not see a lot of street lights, so I would not have been willing to walk back when it was dark with two children (personal choice).
If you were looking for a resort staycation, this is not the place to book. There are no real amenities. This definitely is not a Disney World Deluxe Resort if that’s your jam. If you were looking for a well priced, (emphasizing well priced!), maintained building, with beds, and a very nice bathroom. You should book here! I am so glad that I didn’t allow the other negative reviews to sway me into cancelling. The price point here and location is the gem here (paired with beds, running water and toilet, and a lock...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. I made the mistake of letting my husband book this hotel without letting me look it over. Lets just say booking this hotel for 4 nights via priceline, will forever be the reason I will be in charge of booking hotels for our family from now on. He was trying to be cute and surprise me with a nice hotel after the previous days in we stayed in had be sub par. Little did we know it would just add to the nightmare we were already experiencing. We got into the hotel for check in around 11pm. The guy working the desk was alright. Apparently they charge an additional $40 deposit upon arrival in case of damages or what not that's supposed to be refunded. That's usually pretty understandable right? No, Red flag number one. What made it sketchy was you don't have to pay it. They will literally give you your room keys whether or not you can pay it. They claimed it's a one time charge that is refunded within 24 hours to put your credit card on file. Now on to the fun stuff. We got a double queen room and based on the pictured of the room we were provided with when my husband booked the room, we thought we would have at least a mini fridge and microwave in our room which was a necessity for our family considering we are a family of 4 with a 2 year old and a 6 month old. Nope, we had bought a box of gogurt and some hot pockets for our daughter and had to throw them away because we had no where to store them. So we get settled in and go to bed for the night. My husband has to get up early to go to work so some time between 2am and 6:30 am our car got broken into in the parking lot. And they have cameras all over the place so we specifically parked in front of one in hopes to deter theives, but I guess that doesn't stop anyone here. Every night we were here someone broke into our car. The first night was the only night they stole stuff which was luckily only our weed, our pipe, a lighter, and our massage gun. The 2nd thru 4th nights they clearly were trying to steal our car but luckily they aren't very experienced in driving manuals and couldn't get the car to move. But the only way we knew someone was in our car was cause my husband's seat was never in the same position he left it on the night before, it was always scooted up closer to the steering wheel. But back to that first morning. After my kiddos woke up and I got them ready and what not, we went to go check out their "free continental breakfast" right? Wrong. Went down to the front desk to ask about it with my kiddos and the rude lady working at the front desk who's clearly already had to tell the same thing to multiple other guests already and was sick of having to repeat herself. Rudely informed me that they've never had a free breakfast and that if I wanted food I could order from their Asian restaurant or I could go next door to Dennys if I wanted breakfast. I even went back to the hotels website and took a screen shot under amenities where it says free breakfast included and then called priceline and got all my money refunded for this half assed excuse for a hotel. Luckily the lady who helped me from priceline was sweet and understanding and got the money refunded to my account quickly. So in addition to that other review on here that says this place would be worth it even if it was free, I can confirm, even for free, it is not worth it. I highly recommend finding a better hotel. Don't let the 3.9 star rating on google fool you. It doesn't even deserve a...
Read moreTerrible. Absolutely horrible. Do NOT stay here. Just spent a week traveling for a family emergency to come back to an even more stressful situation.
Sue (if that’s even her real name) at the front desk is horrible. When you call, she will answer one question at a time then hang up immediately. The flight attendant riding in the shuttle mentioned the same exact situation to the shuttle driver and ended up at the incorrect hotel because of the front desk’s negligence to answer simple questions.
She (Sue) will not give you any direction of what you are supposed to look for when you are getting ready leave the airport. Even when you call a day ahead, and at the airport, she tells you that when you get ready to leave the airport, you call to be picked up and the hotel (she) will tell you what bus/shuttle number to look for. They/she don’t/doesn’t; she just tells you the shuttle is on the way and then hangs up. She will not give you anyone else to speak to, but claim, when you arrive to the hotel, that someone else was there that could hear the conversation you had with her.
Sue is an older black woman, curly hair, doesn’t wear a name tag, large eyes, and she is absolutely one of the most rude people in the service industry I have come in contact with. I have worked in the service industry for over 15 years, in hotels and restaurants and I could not, can not, believe the way we were treated during one of the most stressful times of our lives.
Go stay somewhere else. This might be close to the airport, but the amount of disrespect you receive should be worth more than the 7 times having to call to get an answer about anything. She says that I “yelled” at her. I can understand that since I am someone who is clinically deaf and wears a hearing aid.
But I don’t understand why I was treated as an inconvenience rather than someone who is trying to get help.
I even tried to call corporate and they hung up.
This is NOT how hospitality should be represented at all..
Update: there is mold in the bathrooms. Do not stay here. I called to figure out why the $40 incidental charge wasn’t refunded to my credit card and was told (not by Sue) that it takes 3-5 business days for it to go back into my account. I couldn’t even ask my question before I was interrupted and told the same answer twice, and then told to contact my bank. My bank said that the authorization hadn’t gone through/hadn't been authorized yet/released so the money could come back into my bank account. Again, DO NOT STAY HERE. The only thing nice about this experience has been the shuttle drivers, the housekeeping staff is very nice, and the fact that DoorDash/uber eats is quick. The people who work in the restaurant aren’t even there in a timely manner. We tried getting tea before we left, waited 20 minutes, and they finally showed up as we had leave so we didn’t order. When you book online it says that breakfast is included but it just means you have to go buy it from the restaurant downside. DO NOT STAY HERE. THE FRONT DESK NEEDS...
