Restaurant Review: Star Coffee Restaurant
Located conveniently next to the airport in Seattle, Star Coffee Restaurant is a popular spot for Ethiopian drivers, who make up a significant portion of the city's ride-share workforce. Despite its promising location and cultural appeal, my experiences there have been quite disappointing.
Ambiance and Atmosphere: The café serves as a gathering place for many drivers waiting for their next ride, often for hours on end. Unfortunately, this creates an atmosphere that feels more like a crowded waiting room than a restaurant. The noise level is high, and the overall environment is not conducive to a pleasant dining experience.
Service: The service at Star Coffee Restaurant has been consistently subpar. On multiple occasions, I found the staff to be inattentive and unwelcoming. The presence of drivers, who seem to act as if they own the place, further diminishes the experience. Their loud and often rude comments, especially about the orders placed by paying customers, create an uncomfortable environment.
Food: While the food itself is authentically Ethiopian, the experience of ordering and dining is marred by the behavior of the drivers. During my visits, I encountered instances where these individuals would comment on my order and the prices, making the experience feel intrusive and disrespectful. This behavior is unprofessional and detracts significantly from the enjoyment of the meal.
Value: Considering the quality of service and the uncomfortable atmosphere, the prices at Star Coffee Restaurant do not justify the experience. There are better Ethiopian restaurants in Seattle where one can enjoy a meal without feeling judged or unwelcome.
Overall: Star Coffee Restaurant has the potential to be a great spot for Ethiopian cuisine but falls short due to the negative behavior of its regular patrons and the lack of professional service. Until these issues are addressed, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant and respectful dining experience. The behavior of the drivers, who seem more interested in displaying their perceived status rather than respecting fellow diners, is particularly disappointing and reflects poorly on the...
Read moreStar Coffee Restaurant is an outstanding Ethiopian restaurant located close to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and a couple of blocks south of Tukwila Light Rail station. I’ve been coming to this Restaurant since way before I moved to Seatac from North West Seattle.
The restaurant serves delicious Ethiopian foods such as Kitfo, Vegetarian dishes,Tibs (Roasted lamb & beef) and other Ethiopian dishes flavored by organic Ethiopian spices imported form mother land and served with my lovely Injera (the sour & spongy nutritious flat bread)
What I also love about this Restaurant is that it is very clean, the waitresses and kitchen staffs are very friendly, smiling and they never stop showing you that genuine Ethiopian hospitality. The owners are also very respectful, friendly and they closely supervise the restaurant. In my understanding this outstanding Ethiopian restaurant is a favorite destination for locals and visitors.
Every time I visit this restaurant I feel at home especially during holidays since i live far away from my parents and country. I also loved seeing my hardworking fellow Ethiopians (Dedicated Seahawks Fans) and diversified group of people dining, watching football games and entertaining there. All in all the Star Coffee Restaurant is a favorite dining, drinking & Ethiopian Music entertainment landmark in the area. Therefore i would suggest every one to go and...
